Hair Etc Timing on Wedding Day

Recommended Posts

I had originally thought that getting up at 6am for a 11am wedding is enough time..but now I'm not sure.

There are 3 ladies (including me) that are getting our hair done by the Spa at ROR. My bridesmaid is doing our make up.

Here is my timeline:

6am - Wake up, Shower & Eat (well try to eat)

7am - Bridesmaid Hair done first, Maid of Honour in Shower

8am - Maid of Honor Hair, Bridesmaid make up

9am - Brides Hair, Maid of Honor make up

My bridesmaid is planning on showering the night before. We all have thick hair and it takes forever to dry. We are all having our hair curled (with a curly iron).

I would have to get my make up done sometime in there but not sure when. Wedding is at 11am...and I have a feeling I have to walk to the other side of the resort to get to the Pond Gazebo so I figure I need to leave by 10am.

I am starting to think I should get up at 5am...yikes that's EARLY!

Any suggestions?

If you're planning on using spa services, you don't have to use your credit card to book online. You have to pay a 50% via paypal though. I suggest doing this to make sure they have enough time to get everyone done. They will also probably have to start before the official opening time so it's probably best to give them the heads up. We went to the spa but I've seen plenty of brides have the stylists come to their room.

As for timing, I can't be much help. There were only 2 of us and we got mani/pedi, hair and makeup done. That took from 9:30 - 1:15ish. They like you to have unwashed hair for styling though, as it hold the curl better.

Hope that helps!

Soo much for sleeping in on your day.. not that anyone could anyway. I think your timeline seems fine. But I would make a call in and reserve your times because since you will be starting early with things you need to make sure they are aware of the plans. When you have spoke with the WC did she advise you on any of this? I agree on washing your hair the night before and use a shower cap in the morning. If you hair is that thick, even with alot of drying in the morning you will still have traces of moisture in and curls will fall flat after a while because the curling iron will cause a steaming effect to your cuticle. (sorry this is the hairdressering in me).. but check with resort asap on the times to make sure they will have people around for your times.

Showering the night before makes sense. I will have to get in touch with the spa then and book. I don't want to have to go to their location because of how strapped we are going to be with time.

So if we have showers the night before that will help save some time! Ok...time to re-write my plan LOL

I think they do come to your room. I saw some BDW reviews where the bride had her hair done while in her room. That may be something that you can do to save time as well, not sure if its an additional cost though.

I made my appt the day that I arrived instead of booking online. Also, I washed & blow dried my hair before I went there, just to save time.

Also remember that the actual salon is pretty small. They only have 2 stations set aside for hair & then an area for mani/pedi's. So the less people in there at 1 time, the better you'll be!

Oh, you said you're wedding is at 11am & you were thinking of leaving your room at 10? That may be a tad too early. Mine was at 4pm & I don't think Chandlyn came to get me till practically 4! She may have even come at 3:45, but I know it wasn't too early though & I had to walk all the way from building 3/Plantation side of the resort to the other end of the resort where they have the beach ceremonies.
