Thanks for all of the support. This whole episode has taught me to shop around for alterations! I go back on May 9th for a second fitting and then she said I'll be able to pick my dress up well before the wedding.

And, she apparently used to have a tailor shop in the area and sold it, then she realized how much she missed working. So, she now works out of her home and she said that she gets lots of business from local coordinators and she is a member of some bridal coordinator association or something....She said that her past brides have posted about her on the Knot, but I couldn't find anything when i looked this afternoon.....but, i can never find anything on the know.......anyway, enough rambling! I'm happy!

Tammy ~ I'm looking forward to hearing how your goes today!
Jess, first of all. This is the first time I wore a bustier, other then trying on it for about two minutes... OMG I'm going to be that bride that passes out, I felt like my head was about to explode.

Well my dress required not one but two bustle's, the sides are being takin in about an inch on each side and she's doing some work on my straps,, cost of alteration, $205.00. Cost of bride falling over dead in the hot cabo sun, after being in her dress for longer then 5 minutes,,, priceless. :-)

My next alteration is on May 8th..

So fun! We're on the same alteration schedule...haha! It sounds like we're having the same things done to our dresses and the prices are comperable.

We are going to be hot aren't we? I was sweating while I tried it on for her....physically hot and nervous about the alterations.

Yeah I need extra strong deorderant, lol.. Those bustiers are a PITA, I asked if I could get away with the cups and she said with my dress the bustier would give me the best look. Crossing fingers that I'm able to say 'I do" before I pass out.

Jess got her's at VS (Victoria Secret) and I actually found mine at Macys, for 10.00 cheaper. Same thing as the one at VS. My seamstress told me cups don't really give you support (well with my dress) and that if you really want good support get a seamless bustier.

I took my dress for alterations yesterday- $300!!!!! Take in the bust, hem skirt, and add bustle. WTF?!?! The dang dress only cost $599. And what really ticks me off is the reason I need to get it altered is the bridal store ordered the wrong size! GRRRRRRRRRR

If I remember correctly your dress has a lot of beading, right? Especially around the bottom?

That's probably why it's going to be so expensive - they'll probably have to hem your skirt from the waist like they did with mine which is a lot more work and a lot more expensive unfortunately...
