Has anyone used this site to book their wedding? Can u give me some details about it? What was good about them? Bad?

I am considering it bc the 3, yes 3 agents I have contacted are really slow. Or maybe I am impatient. I started my search for the perfect place almost 3 weeks ago and still have no quotes. NOT 1. Am I being unreasonable does it normally take that long? I just want to pick a place so I can do STD's and get the rest of the details together. I was sure by now I would be making my std's and addressing them by now.

Thanks in advance for any help.

I'm not sure if you are expecting too much as this is the first time I have ever used a travel agent. I am using DW.com. I have had no issues with them, although I know other girls on here have.

Denise looked at numerous resorts and came back with quotes for each. She has booked, so far, 18 people's hotel stay and flights. She has also stayed on the wedding coordinator when I have a hard time getting in touch with them.

They are definitely more like travel agents than wedding planners, in my opinion, but they do offer to do STDs for you.

But, anyway, I am very happy with them...I would have not been able to handle booking everyone's travel and answering all my guests' questions...Denise saved me of that!

I too have used DW.com. I thought that my agent was great and she talked more Jay than me... But booking and getting everyone else on board with Ellen to book and ask questions. I have been totally happy with everything they have been able to offer and I do agree they are agents not WC, but they do get you in touch and find out all the inside stuff beforehand so when the WC from the resorts contact you... your totally comfortable with the decision you made. plus the goodies/perks you get with them are nice too.

Do you know what area you are interested in ? Is there not a travel agent that you trust or comes recommended ?
We did all of our own research with the help of trip advisor and debbie's caribbean, I had received a good review of one agent, sent her an email and she called us within 5 minutes.
Are you looking for a wedding coordinator, is that what the Destinationwedding.com is ?

Best of luck
Erin

We are interested in the caribbean or mexcio. and I do not have a travel agent.
DW.com is a site that says it will help with planning your whole wedding. You give them $50 which is then supposed to be credited to your trip, they set up a wedding website and book all your guests.

Thank u very much for the info. And the info about the travel here is helpful too. I did a search with destinationwedding.com and it said no results. I will try dw.com. Like I said b4 I think I am just impatient I think. I have never booked with a ta, So I don't know how long this is supposed to take. I just think for the 3 (which r not from here) that I contacted 3 weeks with no quotes for anything is a long time. I think I have been pretty specific on what I want but still NOTHING. Except more questions.

I went on a travel site, tripology, put in what I was looking for and then 3 agents contacted me. All of which have planned destination weddings so they say. But they answered my request knowing it was a dw. So the one I wasn't a fan of but he kept emailing me. One kept tryin gto push her own agenda on me no matter how many times I told her no. And the other one Has been back and forth with me 4 ever with no quotes. Lots of ideas nothing concrete. Needless to say I have answered all 3 of their questions and told them to the tee what I am looking for. All I have asked for is estimate on travel for 2 for 4 d, and 7d, and travel for the 4 of us for 10. And to send me a brochure on the wedding. No group stuff yet. Nothing. I just got 6 emails from the one ta with more "ideas" no money. I have asked the same question about the same resort 3 times and still haven't gotten an answer.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
