Recommended Posts

I ordered mine online and saved a ton. THe first one came in waaaay to big. I called them and got a return Autho and sent it back. Once they received it they sent me a new one. Just do some research on the company you want to purchase from first. Let us know maybe one of us used them and can give you some insite.

I actually have a crazy dress story...

I searched dozens of boutiques looking for the perfect dress...I wanted it to be off white (I'm very pale, so pure white just bleaches me out), strapless, very plain and simple, and in a raw silk material (shantung or dupioni)...I didn't think this was so hard to find, but it was. Every place I went I would find one or two dresses that were ok, but I would have to do some alterations. One dress I found at a private boutique and it was perfect except for some beading on the top. Well when I asked the woman if the beading could be removed you'd think I had just about killed her. She started yelling about how someone hand-sewed all the beads on and I was crazy to take them off...haha.

It was almost impossible to find a plain dress in raw silk. I also wasn't going to pay $2-3,000 for a dress just to take the beads off!

So I had just about given up when I was surfing Ebay and came across an auction for sample dresses from a bridal salon that was going out of business. There were a few auctions and one was for three dresses, one of which was an absolutely perfect dupioni silk strapless dress by Saeyung Vu Couture. The dresses were advertised as being very dirty around the hems, as they had been tried on many times in their store. Bidding opened at .01 cent - it was so cheap so I said what the hell and bid. I got a lot of 3 dresses for $8.44 plus $12.00 shipping, not expecting them to be anything great.

Well the dresses came about a week later and I opened the box to see my perfect dress. All 3 were by Saeyung Vu Couture and 2 of them had price tags attached. Prices for the samples were $1800 and $2300! One of them fit me perfectly, although I didn't like the style or material, and the other two were size 8 and 10 (I'm a size 2 so they are wayy too big). I knew this when I ordered so no surprises there. I took the one I wanted to the cleaners and had it cleaned for $30, and it looks brand new! Now I just have to get it fitted (10 to 2 is a lot, but because of the simplicity of the dress, they said it's not a problem). I couldn't believe it...so I have my dress plus two others (one of which I may crop to make short for our celebration back home), all for so cheap!!!

So yes, buying online is an option...I would say make sure there is a return policy in case you don't like it (for me I didn't care because it was $20!)

Best of luck!
