Hi ladies,

I'm planning my site visit for November and I've noticed that a few of the hotels I'm looking at have on-site WC's but others do not. Should I contact an independent coordinator before heading down there or wait until I've picked my spot? Any advice would be greatly appreciated!! I'm feeling overwhelmed!!

I'm looking at:

The Tides

Esencia

Al Cielo

Fairmont Mayakoba

Le Reve

Mandarin Oriental

Azul Fives

Well, of course that depends on how much you want to spend/how big your budget is. If you are not limited by a tight budget, by all means, contact an independent WC before calling hotels. That way, they can make recommendations for you. It seems like all the WC's at the hotels which come with their wedding packages are more or less sales people rather than someone trying to help you plan your wedding. They pretty much just reserve the date for you, send you the contract, and collect the money. A lot of times, they dont really bargain with you f you want to exchange certain items in a package for others. Also, be careful because some of the hotels have a set list of vendors they use, so depending on if you take a wedding package or not, you may be limited to certain things (i.e. a certain DJ, a certain photographer, 1 place to get flowers, etc.)
