Do I have to put my parents name on the invites?

Here is what I found for ettiquette:

 

If the Bride's parents are divorced:

either

Issued by the parent who raised her

Ms. Janet Myers

requests the honor of your presence

at the wedding of her daughter

Anne Catherine

etc.

 

or

 

Divorced parents are hosting the wedding together

Mr. Christopher Myers

and

Ms. Janet Myers request the honor of your presence

at the marriage of their daughter

Anne Catherine

 

Divorced parent and new stepparent are hosting the wedding:

Mr. and Mrs. Marc Velez

request the honor of your presence

at the marriage of Mrs. Velez's daughter

Anne Catherine Myers

etc.

 

Child of divorced and remarried parents both hosting the wedding

Mr. and Mrs. Christopher Myers

and

Mr. and Mrs. Marc Velez

request the honor of your presence

at the marriage of their daughter

Anne Catherine

etc.

 

OR

 

Mr. and Mrs. Christopher Myers

I personally like "together with their parents". I think it is less formal and better suited to a beach wedding.

We did put our parents - but only b/c we wanted to. So ours read... "Melissa and Benjamin, together with their parents Linda and Reno XX and Janice and Terry XX" invite you...

I personally like seeing

 

'together with their parents' as a line on the invite, it shows respect to your parents, as well as any step parents...

We did that for our invitations too. I wanted to have all the parents' names on the invite so ppl would know their names prior to the wedding. I can see how that can get complicated w/ many names though.

Mine don't mention parents lol mostly because my dad isn't getting an invite (pointless not interested and lives way to far away to travel lol) and I can't stand FMIL and her new hubby - they boil my piss and so she is not getting any mention anywhere lol
