I got a new ring yesterday!

Matt and I looked at engagement rings a few months before he asked. I knew I wanted a princess cut but wanted to make things easier on him so I told him a solitare would be great. He confided he was pretty overwhelmed at the jewelry store with all the choices. He did alot of research (unknown to me) and picked out a beautiful diamond with a great but plain band.

We recently started looking for his wedding band. Of course my eyes were drawn to the sparkly section. lol I found one that I loved and he got it for me!! He said it actually shows off the diamond he picked even more so he loves it too.

old- I'm going to have an aquamarine or blue topaz set for my something blue.

I was finally able to take a kinda decent picture....it's rather hard to do for some reason.

Those are baguettes on the side, in case ya cant see them.

Now...lets see if the forum will let me post the pic! Oh, it's dark! And the size is on the bottom...oh well!

I could not get a decent picture, but you can kind of get what my rings look like a little. I love my rings, they are so simple (I don't wear any jewellery except a long chain with 3 lockets on it) so I neede pretty, sparkly and simple. The diamonds are beautiful diamonds but you can not tell at all from this picture. Hopefully my photographer at the wedding will do them justice.

Tammy - I wouldn't upgrade your stone size if it's not going to make a difference in the appearance of the diamond size. If you are looking to change stone shape I would suggest looking into a cushion cut diamond which is what I have. they're more brilliant than step-cut diamonds and they don't need as much depth in order to be correctly cut so you get a larger diamond surface = bigger looking stone. They're also a little less common which is why I am guessing that you went with the emerald to begin with. I love emeralds (and asschers - they're my favorite!) but you really need a super high quality diamond if you're going with that shape so that you don't see any inclusions.

I like the idea of getting another band. I often just wear my wedding band these days but hope in the future to get another, more substantial eternity band to wear as well wink.gif

Sorry, I totally highjacked this pic from someone else on the forum, but I can't find a picture of mine online and this is seriously exactly it!

I love it so much, the only problem is trying to find a band to match. I think I'm going back to the jewelers where Mike got it this weekend to see what they can do.

A year or so ago I nonchalantly put a picture that I tore out of a magazine of a ring just like this on our fridge. Mike ended up keeping the pic in his wallet until he bought the ring for me last month! The picture is a little blurry...
