yeah white gold is made by mixing yellow gold with other metals to make it white, this starts wearing off so you can have your rings "re-dipped" every so often. we got the lifetime plan so our dipping is included as many times as we want to per year...as well as cleaning, re-sizing, repairs, replacement, etc. it's worth it to pay the extra money up front!

You don't have to get new rings. But if you do see if the jeweler you bought your first e-ring from will upgrade your ring. That is what we have decided to do on our 10th. Its really up to you but you don't have to get new rings at all.

ten years! congrats!!

our jeweler offers upgrading; you spend what you originally spent on the diamond and you the the current value of your original, so if you spent $3000 on the diamond and it's worth $4000 now, you basically get a $7000 diamond for $3000. My FI says that i can upgrade for our 5th if i want to but i told him i couldn't imagine leaving MY diamond at the store!! he spent so much time and did research to get me the best diamond possible and i LOVE it!! i told him if we ever upgrade, he'll have to save up some $$$ cause i'm not trading it in...might turn it into a pendant, lol!!

My CONGRATULATIONS to you on 10 years, as well! :)

I agree with the other girls that while you don't have to get new rings at all, if you do decide you want something else, you can always turn your current ring into another piece of jewelry and keep it. (That is what I am planning to do; I'd like to change my current e-ring into a necklace, and keep my double-insert wedding band [which the e-ring fit into] with whatever upgraded e-ring I get! I like the sentimental part of still wearing the actual wedding band that my husband placed on my finger during our ceremony, you know?)

And one other suggestion -- if you decide to keep wearing your current rings, maybe you could simply get another band to stack on top of your e-ring and wedding band? That might be a nice way to symbolize your renewal without having to say goodbye to your old rings...just a thought! wink.gif
