Just wondering how long in advance to send the notarized copies of our birth certificates and passports to Chandlyn??

It needs to get there one month in advance. I am not too sure how long it takes to get there though.

Where and how do you get your stuff notarized? Does it cost anything?

We had to take our passports and birth certificates to our Lawyer, then they have to photocopy them and sign them, I guess then they are notarized. It is costing us $20.00 all together.

I was actually able to email the documents to my wedding coordinator. Maybe you can check to see if she's able to also accept emailed copies.

I got my documents notarized this past weekend. I plan to send them by registered mail so that I can track them and know when they arrive. I also plan to attach a letter to Chandlyn to ask her to email me when she gets them. I'll keep the email in my file to take with me just in case something happens.

 

Call me paranoid, but I don't want anything to go wrong. I'm getting married in Feb and plan to send the copies today.

I was able to scan my documents and send them to my wedding planner as a .pdf. She should be able to accept the documents in that format as long as it has the notarized seal/stamp visible.

I did it via lawyer too but mine was free as my aunt works for him

I will also be sending them via registered mail so I know when they arrive in Jamaica. I will be attaching a note to Chandlyn to email me when they arrive.

Just in case though, I had two copies of each made so I will have originals with me when I arrive.

I just took it to a bank and had it notarized for $2 a page.
