Lobster Closed Season!?!

Heya ladies!

 

I checked out the Rough Guide on Jamaica from the library over the weekend, and made an absolutely awful discovery when reading through it yesterday. Lobster closed season is April 1 - June 30 of each year. During this time, fishers aren't allowed to catch lobster and restaurants aren't allowed to serve fresh lobster, only frozen. what.gif

 

One of the biggest appeals for Jamaica is the fresh and cheap lobster and shrimp - yum! I especially wanted to try the lobster thermadore that has garnered so many rave reviews. Have any of you girls traveled to Jamaica during the off season, and did you have any of the frozen lobsters? Any restaurant recommendations?
