So, I sent out an 'evite' to our wedding. Unusual I know! But I still haven't figured out my save the dates, and we needed to get an approximate number for the room blocks - so I just sent out an evite!

So far people have reacted so positively, I am glad I sent it in evite because we can easily send out emails to those that have responded or not responded, and you can ask questions in the response, so it's working well.

My question is: my wedding is 11 months away.

So far everyone is responding YES!

How many of those people do you think we should plan for? Roughly how many of the people that responded yes to you in the beginning dropped out eventually?

I love the evite idea, nothing wrong with that. For us roughly 20% who said yes at first ended up saying no. That seems like a lot, not sure about other brides. I think people get really excited and think it is such a cool idea, but when they seriously consider time and finances some have to bow out. That may be the most difficult thing about planning a DW!

Well, I'd say about 30% ended up saying they can't that orginally said they would. I sent my invites out in November for our June wedding. What ended up happening if that some people couldn't get off work, or had other issues that they couldn't end up coming. Shoot I'm 2 1/2 months away and I'm still waiting on the "yes" people to actually book their vacation.

i think everyone that said yes to me will come - they've all booked already. but we never had that long of a timeframe - the STDs went out in Dec/Jan and the wedding is in June.

1 exception is my good friend who said "yes, if i can" because she is due w/her 2nd baby early May. i can't blame her for that one!

  • 1 month later...

As far as the deposit for room blocks goes.... did you pay or did you get deposits from the guests? We got a pretty good rate for people but they need to get a deposit in to secure that rate, and nobody has so far (though it is still VERY early!!!). I can't exactly spot the $150per person for the people who are rsvp-ing with a tentative yes (surprisingly, we're getting more 'yes' than 'no' - very unexpected!)...
