Some Resort Reccommendations from a photographer

Recommended Posts

Hi Everyone! I thought I would post this here in case anyone is thinking about Jamaica but has not picked a resort. My Photographer Paula from Sungold and I were chatting about Couples changing their policy for allowing outside photographers. We both feel it is disappointing to many would be Couples brides. (Luckily I got grandfathered in) Hence she gave me names of great resorts for weddings in Jamiaca. Here is what she had to say:

"Thanks so much and do me a favor, spread the word about these resorts. Moon Dance Resorts - Negril, Jamaica Rockhouse Hotel/Restaurant Coyaba Resort Jamaica Round Hill Hotel and Villas Resort, Jamaica Holiday Resorts Jamaica, Jamaica Holiday Resorts, Holiday Resorts Jamaica, Tryall Club resort Jamaica Montego Bay Jamaica Resorts & All-Inclusive Beach Hotels - Rose Hall Resort & Spa I know most people know about Sandals, and Couples resorts, and not many know about the above mentioned. But they are absolutely stunning for weddings."

Thought it may be helpful. Also, so far Sungold has been wonderful and I will place a review for them after my wedding. I got their name from a former BDW bride who had awesome pics!

Jamiaca has an amazing amount of resorts and villas available!

These are all fantastic properties and do allow outside photographers but they also can be very "picky" and expensive on other aspects of the wedding! Be sure to look at the total cost and all of the policies before choosing a location!

I am getting married at Bluefields Bay Villas, which is a top notch location with reasonable prices, IMO, on the south cost of Jamaica. It is about 30 minutes from Negril:

Villas on Bluefields Bay, Jamaica - Private Luxury Waterfront Villas

I looked at many villas before making this choice, and found it to be the most reasonable and flexible. You truly have the ability to pick and choose what you want to do in terms of ceremony, reception, etc. Plus, it is ranked #1 on trip advisor. I visited there last July for a site visit and cannot tell you how impressed I am.

I would highly reccommend it to anyone!

It's nice to see that your photographer suggested all those places...I am in love with the RockHouse Hotel! I have e-mailed them to get some more information. I also saw that your photographer has a slide of a couple marrying at the rockhouse on their blog...it's beautiful! If you have any more info on SunGold, could you pass it along? Thanks!

I also am using Sungold... to whomever it was asking for more info... check out their website. They have tons of couples photos in their gallery, which will also give you a sneak peak into all the hotels that are in Jamaica, and most are probably 10x better than Sandals, because they are more intimate and personal. That's why I chose Coyaba. I didn't want to be one of several brides on my wedding day. I wanted to be the only bride, so that there was no rushing or sense of urgency. I guess its all about what is important to the wedding couple...
