Hey Ayita! How are things going for you? Hope you enjoyed your trip home to visit the fam and everything is going well with the pregnancy! Update please!

Well, we're officially on cycle #1, and I have been surrounded by babies and preggies lately, so I'm extra excited to see how things go this month.  After being on the pill for 11 years, I'm a little concerned about the effects of withdrawing from the hormones.  I have been experiencing daily headaches since last wednesday (apperently a result of changes in estrogen levels) and have my appointment with my doctor to discuss the journey ahead of us.  I'm excited to possibly have a baby on the way by next summer! Wish us baby dust!

Thank you for asking seaprincess ! Well actually, you're right on time : today was a big day for me as I'm just our from my doctor's appointment and saw my baby's heartbeat for the first time !!! love.gif I'm 7.5 weeks so he's no bigger than a peanut but the peanut is alive pinkie.gif

I did two blood works and one ultrasound during my vacation - to confirm everything was on track and that the pregnancy was in utero. Just back yesterday and first thing today was doctor's appointment. HCG levels keep rising steadily (I was at 89,000 today) and should cap now. My progesterone levels are low though, actually going up and down and up and down, so I'm on twice a day progesterone suppositories (and I'm going to add a little bit of my progesterone cream to this, knowing this !). My belly stopped hurting as bad as it did in the first weeks, whcih is good, and still no morning sickness ! Yeah me !

Now I'm going to try to relax (well, until the nuchal translucency ultrasound, that is !).

DH heard from the doctors' mouth that we are still on a no-intercourse regime, but he was so excited to see his baby's heartbeat that this should help him through the rest of the first trimester ;)

Keeping my fingers crossed !!

Hi Ladies!

So glad I just found this thread... read through all 24 pages of it!

My husband and are about to start TTC...

I've already been doing lots of searching online b/c there is SO much I did not know about all of this!

Glad there's a thread here with you gals helping out...the other TTC forums just don't seem as good:-)

I do have a question I didn't see addressed...

Has anyone on here used a fertility monitor...like the ClearBlue Digital Fertility Monitor, or similar...?

Just wondering what your experiences with them have been...

Thanks - and good luck to everyone trying!

I am on day 5 of the Clear Blue Easy Fertility Monitor, so I haven't started any of the tests yet and don't really have an opinion on how it works yet.  I'll update once I have an opinion on how it works.  I'm kinda not really sure how helpful it will be since I already do OPK's, but it was given to me as a gift so I'm excited to test it out and see if it's more accurate then just plain opk's.

Good luck with your journey!

Hi there!

My husband and I used the ClearBlue Fertility Monitor ,,, the first two months we were TTC we didn't keep track but all the signs made me suspect that I was ovulating late.. so month three we tried the fertility monitor and i wasn't ovulating til day 18 (I actually had to buy two boxes b/c mine only came with 7 days...)... BUT IT WORKED! I am 17 weeks now and due beginning of Feb!

Hi, I'm new to this thread too but did use the Clear Blue monitor when I was TTC'ing a few years ago. It worked really well, and always clearly showed when I O'd. Sadly, O'ing is not my issue as I have blocked tubes, but I highly recommend the monitor.

Did you buy one yet? I was able to pick up one for super cheap on Ebay. I turned around and resold it for exact same (or maybe more? LOL) that I bought it for.

Thanks for the help ladies!

My DH and I bought one yesterday... we bought the expensive one (not the $40 kind) and got it on sale for $199, whoo-hoo:-) (it's normally $250)

I just figure, I'm 37 and I wanna make sure we're making use our of every fertile moment possible, lol:-)

Glad to hear the positive feedback from those who have tried the fertility monitors.....

You have to wait til the start of a cycle to start using it, so for me, that should be within the next couple days, then I'll report back on how it goes:-)

I do have a question I'm not sure any of you can answer, but....

It says you're supposed to use your first urine of the day for the testing stick...

I will often get up in the middle of the night (3am/4am/5am...somewhere in there) and pee, then go back to sleep.

Would THAT be considered my first urine of the day, or can I test the first pee when I actually get up...?

TIA:-)

Usually first urine of the day means that you have ot have not peed in like 5 hours in order to allow for the hormones to concentrate in your urine. So if at 4am you did not pee since 11pm it's good. If you get up at 3am try to wait until 8am...

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
