Stacey even if you don't want to full out take your temps and chart completely I would def at least track your cycles in terms of when you get your period etc. See if there is some pattern like if your cycles are consistantly 30 days etc it will help later because you always Ovulate about 14 days before you start your period. So if your cycles are always 30 days you know you are going to be fertile between day 12-17. Also, if you are on the pill I would stop a month or two before you plan to start TTC because sometimes your cycles will be really loopy after you get off. I stopped taking the pill in May of 08 and got pregnant in Jan 09 and every cycle I had was over 40 days!! Some where as long as 60 days.

There is a free course you can take on fertility friend that is really helpful in terms of watching your Cervical Mucus and watching for "signs" of ovulation.

I'm excited you two are thinking about starting!! It can be super frustrating but it is def rewarding when it works out!

Whoa I did not know about the sperm being 6 months old. I also agree with the other girls start to know your cycle so when the time comes you will have a good understanding of your cycle. DH and I knew we wanted to try in Sept. but I never thought to really look into it much prior to July when I went off BCP. I also highly recommend fertilityfriend.com a lot of useful information on there. Good Luck when you are ready!!

Goodluck girls. I did do the cycle tracking on FF and it did help some. Honestly i was amazed at all the things i didnt know about my body. i had no clue about the cervical fluid stuff and a ton of other stuff so it did help to learn some of that. I really only temped and tracked my period, i didnt really get into tracking my cervical fluid because i wasnt really getting the difference between all of it so unless i was sure what kind it was i just didnt put anything down.

I signed up for the web site that you all mentioned. I have to admit that it is very confusing. But it looks like there are classes you can take? I will have to work on that over the weekend, when Im not at work. It totaly looks like a foreign language though, with lots of new abreviations to learn!

Yeah, there are tons of abbreviations that I'm still learning too! There is SO much info. The course is just an online tutorial kinda thing, but it def helps out. I should probably retake it since I know a little bit more know then I did in the beginning. It was like greek to me before.
