Is it rude to send 2 diffrent types of invitations

Recommended Posts

These are good ideas. I have been trying to figure out how to do the invite thing, knowing there are people who definitely aren't coming to the destination. I just can't justify spending so much for their invitation knowing they can't make it.

Thanks for the ideas, and thanks for this thread!

I must agree to a degree: we sent STD postcards to everyone in April. In September, we sent out 100 invites packages...I say packages because they were postcard packages complete with magnets to everyone. Now waiting for the RSVPs. All in all it was expensive and really drove home the theme. Of course, forgotten friends and family are now coming out of the woodwork! We are all out of the invite packages, so we are sending the forgotten few very simple, printable invitations that we will make look nice. But can I make a suggestion? Some of our guests are sentimental or "savers" who keep everything for sentimental reasons. You may have some of these peope on your guest list too...those who would like to come, but can't and are sentimental.Send them the expensive invite, because they will keep it for years to come,

i've been thinking about this myself since there are people i already know are definitely not coming. mine are pocketfold things (i am making everything, including the pocket, so it's a bit of work with measuring, cutting, scoring, folding, gluing). seems like a lot to do when i know someone isn't coming. bad enough they get an RSVP card and postage, ya know? LOL i'm a cheap b*tch!

I decided to send two different invites in the end. Because I do agree people are sentimental and I dont want to disappoint them by not sending them anything. So I will send two but only the really nice time consuming one to the people who are coming to Playa Mujeres.

Thanks ladies for all your help!
