How did you do them?

 

We have the Steakhouse for dinner and I Have booked the disco for a private reception.

 

When did you do speeches? if you have any?

I personally think that it's totally up to you. Most traditional wedding I believe the speeches are preformed just before dinner arrives or just after. It's usually done before the first dance etc.

 

That being said...do it when you want to! I'm not having guests at my wedding (only 6 of us in wedding party) and we will be doing very small speeches during dinner - if any at all. If you find it to be a little busy at dinner or a bit noisy (dinner is semi-private) do it when you get to the disco. At the same time you only get so much time at the disco...so...

It also depends on if you have a break between the ceremony and dinner. If you have a long break then maybe you can do coctails and speaches in the disco first and then go to dinner

We did speeches when we were at the disco. We did it right before the disco opened up to the general public. I don't know why we waited that long, but in retrospect it was a nice way to end the night & to thank everyone for celebrating with us. Then we went back to partying

I have the Mamme Bay booked then the Seagrape and we are planning on doing speeches while we wait for dinner, they won't be anyting to formal. I am going to try and get a microphone though, just so people don't have to yell!

I'm doing the same as you, Steakhouse for dinner and then the disco. I plan on doing speeches at the dinner. We are not having a lot of speeches so I think it will be fine. From my understanding even when the dinner is semi private, you are separated from the others a little so I'm hoping it won't be too too loud. I am going to try to get a microphone.

We did our speeches right after dinner at the Plantation, before everyone really started dancing. But is totally up to you...what you think is best! They did set up a miscrophone for us to use there so that should be no problem.
