Chinese Paper Lantern Questions??

Recommended Posts

I planning to use chinese lanterns at the outdoor reception and I have many questions?

-Which ones to use Nylon Lanterns or Paper Lanterns?

-Has anyone used Partylights.com, lunabazaar.com, paperlanternstore.com, asianideas.com or any other websites. How was your experience ordering online?

-Did anyone buy the 10 light socket cordkits? how were they?

-Color Lantern vs White Lanterns? With color i'm worried that they look beautiful online and not so great inperson

-What size to use ?

Any advice on using lanterns??

Thanks everyone..

Did you get a response or end up ordering? I am interested in the turquoise ones but will have to pay for expedited shipping, so I want to really like them!

I had one more question - would they stay upright if you were to sit them on the sand?

I ordered Battery operated lanterns. I've decided not to use them. The battery operated lanterns were really nice (great color I ordered 2 types of pink) but they didn't give enough light for what I needed.(my venue is really, really dark) I did a test run on the batteries. I turned them on in the morning and late at night they were still on. (but the light dims) They do stand on their own. (battery operated have a plastic base) But I think a little wind can blow them away. Hopes this help let me, know if you have any other questions :)

Here is a whole post on how to make LED "throwie" lights to light up the lanterns. It saves some money on the cords and tea lights and you don't have to worry about electricity or fire. I'm going to make some of these so I will keep you posted.
