I don't have cable, so I have to watch all the episodes online. Watching them on a 2x3 square is not cool....and when it says "buffering, buffering, seeking, buffering, seeking, lost connection" it really SUCKS! I would like to watch them on the big screen and not all pixilated. KWIM?

Try OpenVision Networks They have full movies (even ones still at the theater) and TV shows on it that are high quality and don't do all the buffering. I'm not sure if they have True Blood but they have Entourage so I don't see why they wouldn't.

I have been swamped at work since coming back from Memorail Day Vacay.

OMG Book 9 was great! I finished it in 2 days! That last paragraph made me crazy! There has to be another book. No way can the series end that way!

After reading the series I was Team Eric all the way. Now, I've been re-watching the series on demand and really like Bill and am all confused. LOL The fisrt episode is available "enhanced" on demand, I guess as a promo for the DVDs. Wow, there are so many tiny details that I never noticed. And, it's narrated by Lafayette, who I love.

Less than 2 weeks to go!

So, I just watched the 1st 2 episodes this weekend. I haven't read any of the books but now I might have to! DH and I were kinda "eh" about the 1st couple of episodes but then we watched the NEXT ON and it looks awesome! We are netflixing the first season (no cable) so we can watch it on the big screen vs. the computer. I hope that our next disk comes soon!

Tracey the first few episodes were a little slow but once all of the characters and plot lines are introduced it gets much better.

The books are definitely a fun read. You can pick them up at Sam's (the first cool.gif for $4 each.

Book 1 and Season 1 were fairly closely linked so I'm skimming through book 2 now to see how it compares with Season 2.

Rachel - my understanding is that the October book is a compilation of all of the stories. A boxed set type thing. I need another book to know what happens next! LOL

If I start reading the books will it ruin the rest of the season for me? I feel like I will ruin one or the other and I think I'd rather ruin the book (know the spoilers etc.), KWIM?

I really look at the book and show as two separate entities.

The books are only from Sookie's POV so there isn't much additional character development. The show (Alan Ball) do a great job of adding depth to the story line and taking some liberties with the plot, but in a way that makes sense.

For example, I really don't remember Tara from the first book. She was a white girl that Sookie went to HS with, they weren't necessarily best friends. She came from an abusive home, but both the mather and father were the physical abusers. In the show she's a black girl that stayed with Sookie to get away from her alcoholic mom.

Jason and Lafayette are hardly in the first book.

On the show (first season), there is a little news clip blub in the background on TV that the leader of the Fellowship of the Sun Church was killed but in the books, he is still alive in 2 or 3.

I think they also sex up the show. This should be interesting because there is at least one good sex scene in each of the books. #2 is about a demon that is honored by partying and orgies so I can only imagine what will happen on the show.

I'm re-reading book 2 now and from what spoilers I've heard from the series, you won't ruin anything. It might give you some clues or general idea of what to expect but nothing more.
