Make sure to bundle up in your parka and carefully watch out for wolves, moose and baby seals out on the tundra. I hear they can be bitches this time of year.

I got it done just over a year ago and have been so happy with it. I healed up really well but lately (like the last 3 months) my eyes have been REALLY dry... I'm attributing it to the summer sun and my new job which involves me looking at a computer screen all day...

if you're indoor w/ac that can really dry your eyes out too

Carly I'm so glad your experience was great! I'm still debating about getting this done...I really want to, but I just feel like our money needs to go to other places right now. You made me feel so much better about the pain/uncomfort though...good to know it's not that bad. Enjoy your new eyes!

LOL Rachel, you're too funny :)

I am soooo getting this done next year no matter what DH says/thinks.

The only part that freaks me out is that I'm weird about things coming too close to my eye (reason why I don't do contacts). My dr. haaates me when I get my eye exam because he and his assistant literally have to hold me down and pry my eyes open. I'm really bad. So I'm just worried that I will somehow move my eye or something and screw it up. I know they tape/force your eye to stay open, but from your experience Carly, do you think my little problem would interfere at all with the procedure?

Not at all, Jess. They do the numbing drops in your eyes, which I had trouble keeping my eyes open for that too. I'm ok with contacts, but drops are really hard for me.

Anyway, I would say that you won't have a problem b/c since you can't "feel" any of it, it's not that hard. It almost feels like your watching this stuff happen right in front of your eye, not TO your eye.

Also, there's no way you can close your eye during the procedure, they have this contraption that they put inside your eye in the top and bottom (after they tape your lashes up and down) and that holds your eye open. There were times were I really wanted to close my eyes, but you just can't. Don't get me wrong, the sensation is insane and freaky, but 3 days later, I am really loving it. My eyes are just about healed in the scratchiness and I can see perfectly.
