Student Loan Consolidation

Has anyone consolidated their student loans? I think that is going to be what I need to do at the end of next spring when I graduate. I have loans through Sallie Mae, Citibank and Direct Loan Servicing. Anyone have experience with any of them? Good? Bad?

I consolidated all of mine through Sallie Mae after I got out of school a few years ago. I locked in at a good rate (can't remember what right now, maybe 3%?). I think they're great to work with and I've never had a problem with them. Their website is very user-friendly and has some great features. I went through a period when I couldn't afford to pay when I first got out of school and I applied can for a voluntary forbearance online with no problem. Just a few weeks ago, I realized I could be paying more, so I played around on their website figuring out how much I could increase my payments and how many months it would take off of my total payments. All in all, I would highly recommend them.

I did it a few years ago through direct loan. They take money out of my account each month and I get a certain % off for having a direct withdrawl and paying on time each month.

I did mine through Sallie Mae too - low rate back in 2005 when I did it. I have the $$ taken directly from my bank account. Super easy to deal with.

I did mine through Citibank. I got in at a good time, the rate is locked at 2%
