Hey girls! Im confused about the BBGE... is it open? I seen somewhere that it reopens sometime in 2009. If so, when?

Also, I looked at the wedding packages online but didnt see anything about receptions. Do they offer private receptions outside or by the pool or something? Any information would be greatly appreciated! TYIA

Not sure what options they have in terms for ceremony's but we are renting a gazebo and doing ours on the beach.

As for the receptions. Dinner is included and you can choose from any of the a la carts but other guests staying at the hotel will be eating there also. But if you want to make this private they will charge you $25 USD per person. With that charge you can choose from having it private in the a la carts or on the beach, etc.

Another option is having your dinner in one of the a la carts (non-private) then the drinks/dancing part private (alcohol included) in the lounge/on the beach/etc for an extra $10 USD person. Also if you want the staff to work past 11:00 pm you have to pay extra for that too. Can't remember the price exactly.

They have different site options for the ceremony and reception. You can do it inside or on the beach (not private, but it's the same story in most resorts). We are doing the ceremony on the beach and a private reception in the Asian restaurant, by the pool. You can also do it by the pool if you wish, but can't do seat down dinner there, needs to be a buffet. For the reception, you can do it at oen of the restaurants, on the beach, by the pool or inside, in one of the "convention type rooms". I have pics and will try posting them again (had computer issues). One of my friends got married there, you can check their web site Our Story. Their photographer is AWESOME and has similar rates as the photographers from there (he is in the US). We got a band already, La Mata (play at Senor Frog), good pricing also. Let me know if you guys need more info, glad to help.

One thing about BBGE is that they are not the most resourceful place, so you have to do the "run around" yourself. They take a long time to answer you, but again, the place is beautiful and has reasonable pricing. You just have to keep chasing them a bit (which can be annoying, I know...). Johnny, how was your experience been so far? Are you dealing with Candy or Cecilia?

Hey!

I just booked this resort a couple of days ago, we are getting married Sept 28th, and our group rate was 1488.00 per person, taxes and fees included. I went with one of the $999.00 wedding packages, and at this point getting a hold of the coordinator has been a nightmare, although I have personally been told amazing things about this place, and that, this is the norm down there?

Thank you SO much for all this info. When you say you had to run around does this mean you did a lot of the planning or just making sure you were ready? Also who did your hair, and what can I expect when I arrive? Will they be there to go over everything with me?

Hi Amelie,

You may already know of this site/forum but in case you didn't, it talks about the murky water but apparently 2 minutes away, the beach gets clearer.

Hi ladies,

I was tossing between Grand Palladium and Iberostar Del Mar until I was made aware of BBGE. The pictures look gorgeous.

JohnnyB, do you know how many ppl are the packages catered for? At most resorts, it's typically for 8-10 ppl and there is an extra cost over that.

Pribrzl, thanks for the link to your friend's wedding website! Can you send me pictures of the reception and wedding venues and reception menus (if you have them). My email address is [email protected]. Do you have a price list of the extra stuff, i.e. flowers, DJ, music, chair covers & bow, cocktail hour, etc? Also, does the resort allow outside photographer?

JO
