FYI-- we chose the island lagoon for our ceremony site and the paniolo lawn for the reception. I am in love with the place and Tracie seems so awesome to work with.

Thanks in advance for your help! I looked at your pics-- amazing!!

Hi Alyssa,

I am planning to get married at Kona Village next summer so I loved reading your review. I also just watched your slideshow which brought tears to my eyes. What a lovely wedding.

I would love to know if all of your guests stayed at Kona Village or if some stayed at a nearby cheaper resort. Also, did you use the musicians that Kona Village provides through its packages or did you hire a DJ?

Thanks so much!

Yes, all of our guests stayed at KV - we had about 40 people.

for the reception, we used the musicians that KV had - a trio i think - i probably would have hired my own b/c they were OK but we couldn't really hear them. for us it wasn't really a huge deal but if that is important to you, then i would hire your own people. for the ceremony, we had a hawaiian guitarist (KV hired him) he was gREAT!

Thanks so much!
good luck with everything :)

Alyssa- So glad I found this site and you! We're seriously considering Kona Village, but have a few concerns that maybe you could help me feel at ease about? We read some poor reviews about the furniture and such in the hales...any thoughts? Also, I am also concerned about the "no a/c" thing and trying to get ready for the ceremony. I don't want to be a sweaty bride! :0) Can you give me more info on how bad or not so bad it was? Did you have a sunset wedding? The planner I'm working with said that if I'm concerned about getting ready in the heat, I should have a sunset wedding (that's what I wanted anyway). Any more advice would be helpful!
