We were hoping for about 200 or less a night and a place that offers pools, some privacy, and is right on the beach. I have found two places that Im really interested in but I was curious was anyones thoughts/opinions were on them. One is Key Largo Grande and the other is the Sundial resort. Thanks again and I hope to hear some good things!

Aw...dang. I've only seen Key Largo Grande from the outside as we pass on the highway. I've been meaning to stop in and check it out. Have you looked on tripadvisor.com? I'm not sure if I'm allowed to say the address, so if the moderator wants to remove this I'm sorry in advance. I've found the site really helpful in first hand account reviews of hotels. Sometimes you will find a basher who is trying to give the place a negative rating to make their place look even better. So read each review with a grain of salt. Also, sidestep.com is awesome as a search engine that will help narrow down your search by comparing websites deals from which you can then go to that website and book a deal. When in Key Largo I have not been impressed with the beaches for swimming, but then again I'm not a swimmer. I've read that Bahia Honda Park is a great place for that kind of thing though, even though it's further south than what you're destination. I have no idea about the other one. Sorry. Oh, btw, my fil's thought The Islander was not bad. It's on Isla Morada I think.

I would second the Islander. They have two great pools and a wide beach area. All of their rooms have kitchenettes and the bigger ones are right on the ocean. They have free breakfast and a good restaurant, and there is a ton of stuff to do in the area. (Deep sea fishing, snorkeling, diving, sunset cruises, parasailing, jetsking, stuff like that.) Check out the Islamorada Chamber of Commercefor more info and recs.
