Hey Ladies,

I'm starting to plan my April/May 2010 DW on Hatteras Island in the OBX. We live in NJ, but really wanted to do something different, but wanted family and friends to join us, so we chose the Outer Banks.

We haven't set a date yet, as we are still checking out venues and what not. So i'm really open to any info anyone can share!!

Thanks,

Cristina

Hey Cristina!

I didn't get married in OBX, but we started a tradition with a bunch of our friends a few years ago and we rent a house down there every year.

We usually stay in Nags head, but I think we may go to a different area next year, we're starting to look at houses now.

You're going to have a fantastice time! I've always wanted to visit Ocracoke Island, which is closer to where you'll be, then where we usually stay. It's supposed to be one of the top places in the world for searching for seashells :) (amongst other things) Might be a great place for you or your guests to visit while there.

I don't know how much I can help, but definitely let me know if you have any questions and I will do my best!

Welcome to the fourm!

A high school friend of mine got married in OBX a few years ago. It was a beautiful ceremony in the Elizabethan Gardens. They had rented a house on the beach as well, so there was a nice party there after the reception as well. Fun times!

Good luck with your planning...you picked a beautiful location!

I am in NYC as well and would love to hear what you end up doing. Do you have a place in mind already? It isn't on Hatteras (I think) but I remember the Sanderling Inn in Duck is beautiful... but pricey.

At least you have a general area nailed down... I still can't decide between Mexico, Caribbean, or coastal US!
