Playa Mazatlan

Hello.

Does anyone know anything about the Playa Mazatlan hotel? We are not sure about what part of Mexico we want to get married in and came across this hotel while doing research. It looks pretty and has a good room rate for guests. They seem to have numerous places on the hotel grounds for weddings too. Anything near the hotel---restaurants, shopping, etc?

Thanks for any info.

If I'm not mistaken, I think I stayed there with some friends back a few years ago! We really loved it! It was clean, really nice inside, and had a great pool area (and is right on the beach). We were all there for 6 months on an exchange program, so if you have any other questions about Maz, feel free to ask or PM me!

Hi Ruby!!!

My fiance and I were thinking of Playa Mazatlan as well(summer of 2010)!!! Are you still considering the venue? I just wanted to hear your thoughts and suggestions and how you're doing in the process of it all! As much as I would love to get married in Mazatlan(or Mexico in general), I'm still a bit apprehensive about the whole swine flu ordeal. Has this caused you to doubt planning a Mazatlan wedding at all? Also I have been in contact with Marlene from Playa Mazatlan... would like to share some info with you(and vice versa).

Please message me when you have the time! THANKS! :)

The Playa Mazatlan is a beautiful hotel. We've vacationed in Maz for the past 5 winters and have stayed at a few hotels, but not that one. We usually tour all the hotels and spend a day by their pools so we know what we like.

We have booked our wedding this January at the El Cid in Mazatlan. It was a toss up between that and the Costa de Oro. We love their pool atmosphere compared to the rest, and El Cid has more to offer in terms of restaurants and pools.

But regardless, there is lots of restaurants and shops nearby, there is basically one big strip in Mazatlan where all the hotels, restaurants and shops are all side by side.

It is a wonderful city and good luck with your planning :)
