Scavenger Hunts

Recommended Posts

Have any of you heard about this? My friends did a photo scanvenger hunt earlier in 2006. IT WAS WAY TOO LONG but fun for the most part. We had to try and find places or things and have our picture taken with them in an allotted amount of time. We did in in 1 day and it was very exhausting.

To the point: I think I may try to organize this as a fun activity for my guests as they are in mexico and have a nice prize for the winners. Any ideas on what I could use in the area or at the resort for photo must haves? I was thinking 1 photo with a sunset(easy but it would be a ncie photo), stanger with a mullet and maybe a pic of each group with a mexican flag in the background.

I think it would be cool to get the pics developed at the end and make a scrap book! Any other pointers? or better yet has anyone done this before??

that might be a lot of fun as a welcome activity, and the end would be the dinner with lots of margaritas-you could pair people up who you think would get along but don't know each other. Do something around the resort in case people are uncomfortable going out and about.

They did this on an episode of 90210 once, when Steve and Janet were getting married, it was really funny. If you have SOAPNet that episode should be on pretty soon.

That sounds like so much fun! I would love to do something like that and I like christines idea of pairing up people that don't know each other. I agree also with keeping it around the resort. I don't really have any ideas for you though because I don't know your resort, but I'll keep thinking!

We're doing a photo scavenger hunt but just at the reception - each table gets a camera and a card with I think 12-13 things they have to find (each one has different things, but they all have one that includes a group shot of the table so we get a picture of everyone!) I think it's a great way to get those shots that we'd like to take but will be too busy to get!

Yep i think the photos will work really well. But the reception is a good idea too. I would pair people up but my Dad isn't too fond of my FSIL. He's already told me he has nothing nice to say to her so he's going to keep his mouth shut.

Also Jared's Mom and Dad are divorced and had a very bitter feud ever since Jared was 8 or so. It was very bad at times and this is a big deal for them being able to stand in the same room. I think this passed year he called to apologize to her (long story he cheated and was a bad husband). sorry thread hijack. I must admit I am presently DRUNK! smile29.gif and it feels great! LOL

I like the idea of a scavenger hunt! If you do it duing the afternoon, you can do things like: take a picture of another resort guest doing a handstand with the group in behind, a picture of everyone in the group doing a shot (if you have some drinkers in the party), taking a picture of everyone in the group and other hotel guests linking up in an "elephant walk" (one arm outstretched, one arm through your leg), picture with a front desk employee...

Just some ideas....maybe a couple are more "wild" depending on who is coming to the wedding...

Melissa, you would have to pair people up before hand and obviously pair up people who don't already dislike each other-I think it might be a lot to do at the reception, plus you don't want people to leave the reception. If you want to do this as a get to know the resort and the group event, do it early on. And if people don't want to do it, like a certain FSIL...then they can just not be a part of it.
