When do groom/groomsmen walk down aisle?

Recommended Posts

I am having the guys stand with my groom. I only have my MOH and no one else, so she is going to walk alone. But otherwise, I assume they usually walk with the bridesmaids and play whatever music you want.

Wow. ..thanks for this...gives me something to think about!! my FI parents are deceased and his only family is his sister who is too selfish to come and for me I just have my mom as my dad is deceased as well.....so now I have to figure out how mom and the groomsmen will enter with whom..

I have only been to two weddings (one was in highschool and one I was a BM)....  When I was the BM I walked solo and all the men were already at the alter.

This isn't how I see my wedding.

I want the groomsmen to walk with the bridesmaids.

The plan I see in my head is that all the men will show up and they will be ushers to seat everyone. When we show up my fiance can stand at the gazebo (hehe) and the men can come up to meet the ladies and walk together.  Then my flower girl and ring bearer can walk down, then me and my dad!

That's what I picture!

For my best friends wedding all the guys were at the alter but met us halfway and walked us to front...I discussed with fiancé and he says he wants men at front and our girls can walk alone lol... so guess that's wht the plan is..

he also figures mom should just sit at same time as everyone else. . ill hve to ask what she wants to do. .

Yes I like the idea of the men meeting the women!  I don't want them to close as I don't want them to see me before my fiance!  I know our location has a treed entrance which provides privacy!

If it is really important to you then you could have a discussion about it, but if you don't mind either way then I guess the men are at the alter!

I would just assume my fiances mom will be seated with everyone else.  Hadn't thought much about this.

Thanks Lilian84 for the post promp I'm getting closer lol! I do but mom doesn't walk well so when I asked her she quickly said take kids or going alone is fine...so seems she didn't want to..but maybe it's the way I worded it to her...I said I'm thinking of having you or the kids. .

At this point the amount of groomsmen and bridesmaid do not match. On top of that one of the groomsmen will be playing guitar (he's an amazing musician). I think I want my step daughter walking down the aisle alone if she's up to it, then my FI sisters together and then my sister and my 18 yr old niece while all of his groomsmen stand at the alter. Last but not least I will walk down the aisle with my father.

Ya at this point I know have one extra BM but I think FI is going to ask one of his other friends to be a groomsmen so its even. .but honestly if it's uneven it doesn't bother me..
