Question for all past Dreams Brides!

My entire bridal party and both moms are getting our hair/makeup done at the spa. Do they let you have drinks in there? Can they do anything special for bridal parties, like bring in drinks and snacks? I asked but haven't gotten a response.

I'm really hoping so, or that is going to be a long 3 hours watching eachother get dolled up!

Great question about drinking cocktails while getting hair and make-up done!  I've been assuming that of course you can!!  It's all-inclusive and you can drink everywhere else... but you might have to have a runner to get drinks from the bar.  And if you can order room service I'm sure they can order some snacks??  But let me know what they say!!!

And glad to hear your details are getting nailed down.  6 weeks!!!  I can't wait to hear you're review once you get back!

Okay, I've got some more info on the spa.

I have 6 of us getting hair and/or makeup done. Most of us are from 12:00-2:00. But there is one girl scheduled from 11:00-1:00 and two who are just getting hair from 1:00-2:00. They said that we are not all allowed to show up early as a group. So if we wanted to all go at 11 when the first girl is scheduled, we would have to pay $236 to rent the salon. Same is true for the final two girls whose appointments don't start until 1:00! They aren't allowed to come with the rest of us at 12:00. WHAAATTT? So, I think our plan is to show up anyway... I can't see them kicking us out.

They said that they can order mimosas or sparkling wine for us while we're there, no charge. So that's promising!

That's all the info I've got so far!

Just an FYI that the salon is not very big (I don't even recall room for 6 people to get their hair done at the same time as I only remember 4 stations, but I may be mistaken)....that could be why they didn't want everyone to show at the same time, but heck give it a try!woot.gif

I scheduled spa pedicures for my girls and they couldn't get all four in at the same time (my wedding is in June) so I don't think it's a big salon.

I also just scheduled my couples massage that comes with the package and they asked where I wanted it.  Did anyone have it on the beach (which is an option) is it private?  I don't think I want people walking by when I'm getting a massage..;)

Esmeralda got back to me very quickly--always within 24 hours.  I'm getting married at Dreams in a couple of weeks and she helped me schedule hair appointments for myself, 7 bridesmaids, MOG and MOB--she definitely had a hard time fitting us all in.

Question--our wedding and reception are on Seaside Beach.  I have been to weddings before where the bride placed a basket of beauty products in the ladies bathroom for her guests to use throughout the evening (like hairspray, lotion, floss, tissues, etc.).  I'd like to do this as well, but I have no idea where the ladies' room is in relation to Seaside Beach, and if this would really work (i.e., would other guests leave the basket alone?).  Thoughts?

Also, are anyone's guests getting upset about the new US State Dept. Travel Warning posted 4/22?  I've received a couple of emails from concerned guests, and I'm not sure what to tell them.  We had been planning to do a pub crawl downtown after our bonfire on Thursday, but now maybe that's not such a good idea.

Hmm I wasn't aware of the new warning but this paragraph concerns me for PV:

https://www.osac.gov/Pages/ContentReportDetails.aspx?cid=10890

Nayarit and Jalisco: Official U.S. government employees are prohibited from traveling to Colotlan, Jalisco, and Yahualica, Jalisco, both near the Zacatecas border, because of an increasingly volatile security situation. Concerns include roadblocks placed by individuals posing as police or military personnel and recent gun battles between rival TCOs involving automatic weapons. You should defer non-essential travel to these cities. In addition, the border areas between Jalisco state and the states of Zacatecas and Michoacán, as well as southern Nayarit state including the city of Tepic, have been sites of violence and crime involving TCOs. You should exercise extreme caution when traveling in these areas. Due to recent TCO-mounted road blockades between the Guadalajara airport and the Guadalajara metropolitan areas, U.S. government employees are only authorized to travel between Guadalajara and the Guadalajara Airport during daylight hours.

But really... reassure your guests that Dreams PV and all the resorts are secure.  We were also planning on going downtown PV to bar hop... and we probably still will.  Violence happens everywhere... you just have to be aware.

Scary though!!!
