I'm not working with the onsite coordinator so I've only asked my TA about an upgrade - she said maybe...so we are hoping! It is Thanksgiving weekend though so it may be tough to get one

I'm trying to twist my TAs arm to get on the "help me" train. He was great up until now, but lacking a little of his previous luster. I'll be chatting with Rebeca this week, did you want me to throw the feelers out there for usual availability Thanksgiving weekend?

Ash you are the best!!! if you could that would be great! According to the TA, they always sell out that weekend though -boo...oh well worse comes to worse we have a jr suite for 2 nights - not really anything to complain about

Our TA told us that if we book 20 rooms we get our room free, but in the class we booked the most of (which will probably be just the deluxe room). But we don't plan on spending much time in the room anyway!

what i meant was get a room in the club tower, even if it's the deluxe room. we didn't have to wait for check-in and received much better service than our friends and family in the other tower. our ta said she upgraded us to the jr. suite w/ jacuzzi even though no one booked through her...so we think it was the resort that upgraded us...but if you get confirmation of it, print it out and bring it with you. they tried to tell us that we hadn't been upgraded.

oh, and if you weren't planning on it, print every email and bring it with you. that way you have immediate proof of everything from menu choice to flowers.

Oh, so there are deluxe rooms in the new tower too? I thought it was just Jr. Suites in the new tower?

Deluxe are all in the old tower I believe

Can I get your TA's info. My TA told me we had to have 30 rooms booked we currently have 28, but if it is true that you have to have 20 rooms I would love to double check. My FI and I really don't want to pay for our room since we have booked so may rooms.

Kathy it all depends on the contract the TA got with the hotel. I'm also using Teresa (I think you are too?).

 

It all depends on time of year, prices, and how many rooms...different room blocks get different perks, so you don't always get a free room with 20 rooms....I believe ours is 30 also but I have to double check....I do know that my rooms are a lot less than a lot of the room blocks I have seen booked though...so maybe that is why it is 30 rooms for us vs 20 for others = free room?

 

Anyway, let me know what you find out but I think that is the case.

I'm also using Teresa, for May '10, and she said if 30 rms are booked we'll get ours free (assuming it's in the same class of rooms). We're leaning towards the room block of 20 so we can avoid putting down a deposit but if we get to 30 that'd be great.

 

I also thought deluxe rooms were only in the old tower, but maybe not. Trying to figure out if we can request only the club tower & have a mix of deluxe rms & jr suites. What did you all do?
