Remembering 9/11

I had just moved to Dallas and was on my way to my first day of work with Enron. I was about a block away from our office when I heard about the first tower. My first thought was that it was an accidental crash.

Once I got my laptop set up, I started getting emails from friends and family who were telling me about it, and trying to check on who had heard from whom, etc....

We spent two weeks watching footage every day and all the news reports at work. It's still surreal to me--- whenever I see firefighter memorials, or police memorials, it reminds me of all the people who were in NY trying to help. What I remember most was just feeling helpless--- wanting to go there and help, but not able to.

Being in the area, I'm sure many from here can attest, people were so upset and sad that day, that you didn't hear one car beep, no one bumped into each other on the street... we were all going through the same thing.. I remember putting my flag outside my house and ever car beeped their horn.
