Cant decide...ugh! Black or Tan?!

Recommended Posts

Hi ladies, I have a lil dilemma and was hoping for some input; May be silly but I just dontknow!!!

My main color for my beach wedding in Cabo is turquoise, I am not sure if I should have black as the accent color or tan....

I think i want my bridesmaids in black dresses with turquoise flowers and perhaps a blue ribbon somewhere on the dress as an accent, and then the guys in black linen pants and turquoise shirts....Hubby would be in a white linen suit with turquoise shirt...

Do u think its alright to have black on the beach?!

Or should i have the ladies in turquoise dresses, and the guys in tan pants and turqoiuse shirts?? why cant i deicidehuh.gif??

I think I prefer the black but want to make sure black looks good on the beach!

Thanks :)

I would suggest to go with the tan instead of black.. as black on the beach and under the hot sun wouldn't be fun :)

I would do turquoise dresses for the ladies, tan linen pants for the guys with turquoise shirts..

Black would look nice on the beach, but I think tan would suit it more and be less "hot" for the wearers of black :)

But in the end its up to you, and what you want!

Black will limit the material for the menswear. You want to consider the comfort of the wedding party so linen is a good way to go. It is much easier to find tan/khaki linen pants then to find black. If your groomsmen are in different areas of the country, the dye lot will also matter as black can vary more than the neutrals.

Hello!! Good question. I know it is hard to decide...cuz I keep thinking differently. I just want to let you know that we are having a black & white wedding...with an accent colour. My girls are wearing black dresses & the guys are going to be in black suits. I think the look is very classy!!! I was wondering about the tan myself but I think I will stick with my original idea. It will look nice in pictures, as well as being different from everyone else!! I hope this helps!!

Well in my opinion...I think both ideas are really great and I do nto think that the colors are really going look 'bad' against the sand and surf based on what colors you have chosen.

I would be worried about comfort...if you wedding ceremony is only going to be short, on the beach and then going under cover for the rest then black is fine for all...but if everything is under the heat of the sun then I would go for the lighter tan colors for pants and dresses.

The way I choose was think about it as if you were the one who had to wear the clothes...will you be hot? will it be comfortable? etc.

Good luck on deciding...

I don't think it's an issue of looking good or bad.

You need to consider availability, comfort, etc.

I also think black gives the impression of formality. I wouldn't choose black for an afternoon wedding with a casual reception.

But, it is your wedding, so you need to go with what make you and FI the happiest!

Good Luck!

Personally, I would use tan. Black is a beautiful and simple color that looks great all the time, but it might be too much of a contrast with the light sand and bright sun. Not to mention sweaty! But, if you choose a tea length flowy dress then it shouldn't be a problem!
