when to have a bridal shower?

Hello! My wedding is going to be in June and I was just wondering how far ahead of time to have the bridal shower? My shower will be held about 6 hrs away from where I live so I need to start planning...thanks!

Have you tried searching on this? I'm sure there are threads (well not 100% sure since I haven't searched myself I guess )

We are getting married in Nov and the first shower is this weekend. It is 2 hrs away from where we live, but we are just inviting everyone from around the city. Then there is going to ba another one in my home town later, for everyone here. I guess it is about 2 1/2 months before the wedding.

EngagedToBeMrsB - well, my shower was held a lot earlier, because of the fall being such a busy time, with Canadian Thanksgiving in October, a week long prior committment in November, and Christmas in December, and our Wedding being in January,

 

my bridal party hosted my shower in September... on the Labour Day weekend, it was awesome!

My shower was exactly 2 months before my wedding. I would think 1-3 months is pretty standard, but whatever works best for you and those throwing it should be the deciders.
