Corvette79
i just noticed that a lot of you mentioned late fees. WE are very lucky here in Vancouver because Blockbuster has no late fees. if you keep it past a month, they charge you for the cost of the movie and if you bring it back after a month, they cancel the charge for the movie and you just pay a $1.75 re-stocking fee. we haven't rented a lot lately cause we watch everything online but awake was really good with jessica alba very suspenseful. also for TV rent DEXTER or CARNIVALE both very good and easy to get hooked on! Let me know if u end up renting either one.
*Heather*
We just watched "21" a week or so ago. It's the one about counting cards in Vegas (Blackjack), with Kate Bosworth. We both thought it was pretty good, but I like those types of movies. I like movies that don't end the way you think they're going to! I'm so bummed to hear that "Smart People" was bad...we were going to watch that this weekend! One of our friends told us it was good Dammit. Those stories about the white girl with a passion for dance a la Julia styles are all the same but I still love em. Good thread Jacqueline! I cried through PS I love you too! My FI kept making me fun of me, but I just couldn't stop. I didn't read the book either so I can't comment on the comparison. I wouldn't say it was my favorite movie or anything, but it wasn't bad. We also watched Cleaner with Samuel L. Jackson, Ed Harris and Eva Mendes. I liked that one too. I know we have so many more movies, but I'm blanking right now.

One of our friends told us it was good Dammit. We also saw "21" and enjoyed it. Even though I read the poor review on "Smart People", we decided to get it anyways because we really like Ellen Page. Haven't watched it yet, but will update. We did watch "Be Kind Rewind". I do NOT understand my BFF's taste in movies because she swore up and down that this was the best, funniest movie, blah blah blah and we just thought it was weird. Wouldn't recommend it. We also just picked up "What Happens in Vegas" with Cameron Diaz and Ashton Kutcher cause my sis and bro- in law said it was really funny - completely predictable but still funny. We'll see about that Oh and the best movie we saw recently in the theater was Swing Vote. I love that movie! I cried, I laughed, I got angry... the little girl steals the show. It also makes me look at the whole political thing going on right now in a completely different manner. Highly recommend (ok, just want to add it's not the best movie I've ever seen in my life for those of you like me who when you hear things like that are often let down but it really was good! haha)
*Heather*
We watched Smart People this weekend...it was OK. I know why people say it's slow, because it definitely is, but the story is kinda cute. I didn't want to kill myself for watching it or anything, but it wasn't amazing. We also watched Pulp Fiction because I had never seen it before. The girl at the movie store couldn't believe that! Especially since I worked at a movie store in high school for 4 years right around the time Pulp Fiction came out...not sure how I missed it. I was probably too into girly movies and N Sync concerts back then, lol.
jajajaja
So how was Pulp Fiction? I've never seen it either. Oddly enough, DH and I were talking about how I had never seen Cast Away and it ended up on TBS later that night. I still didn't watch it. LOL
*Heather*
I haven't seen Cast Away either, LOL. I think I tried watching it once and got really bored so I went and did something else. Pulp Fiction was good! Weird, but good. Uma Thurman looks sooo much younger in it.
jajajaja
I agree it looks boring. The thought of a movie with little to no talking doesn't appeal to me. I'm a child that grew up with MTV- I need stimulation. LOL I know this is for "rentals" but we watched Tropic Thunder this weekend- his choice, not mine. I hated it- it was gory and not really funny. I kept saying "is it nearly over?" I then had to go to the concessions and buy some candy to keep me entertained. LOL- just not my type of movie I guess since I've heard a lot of people say it was funny. I did also see The Women with some friends. Total cute chick flick movie. Kinda has that Sex in the City vibe without all the sex.
