are you using a Caligrapher for addressing

I am sending out announcements for my cabo wedding, should i use a Caligrapher? is it tacky to create clear labels with fancy font for the announcements? The announcements are from Crane.

I didn't use a calligrapher for my invites. I did all 150 of them by hand using a Pilot gold marker with an extra fine point. I have fairly decent handwriting so they came out pretty good. I actually had guests comment on how the writing on the envelope looked and they thought that I had hired someone to address them.

 

Have you thought about running the envelopes through a printer with a calligraphy or script style font instead of using labels? I think it may give it a cleaner look than using labels.

I used clear labels for our STD's and a calligrapher for the wedding invites...I think both ways are fine depending on your taste and budget.

I don't think it's tacky and it is something I struggled with. My BM's convinced me to save the money and use labels.

 

If you can spring the cash for a calligraphy go for it, if not then don't give it a second thought.

I ran the STD postcards through the printer, and one of my mom's friends is going to do calligraphy on the invites. I don't think address labels are a big deal-- Martha Stewart has a cute template for them on her site.

Thanks guys! I feel better about it after talking to you all. Its just an announcement, and i am sure i am one of the few people that will even keep the thing. I dont really want to spend the cash on an envelope that they will just throw away! I wonder if i could take my address list to kinkos or some printer and have them just print the address directly on the envelope?? if i could do this in a fancy font then i think it would look better.

I just printed labels on the computer with a nice font. I was happy the way they turned out.
