I went Carnival both times. I wouldn't worry too much about doing the legal part in the Caymans. people do it every single day off of cruise ships. It will be beautiful!

i am getting married in the caymans as well. we are meeting at the hotel to sign paperwork as soon as the boat docks. then me and my girls will get ready on shore and he is going back to the boat to return with all of our guests for an 11 a.m. wedding.

we leave port at 4pm but plan on leaving the hotel (10 min away from port) by 2:45pm

oh...one additional suggestion for you. I had my vendors put in an "act of God" clause which means that just in case we do not port, I will get a full refund of any deposits I have made. Our wedding is in Feb so I should have nothing to worry about either but its nice to have that just in case!!

I was on a cruise that stopped in Grand Cayman - 6 years ago...lol It was right after the hurricane came through but it was still beautiful! We didn't do any excursions, just walked around and enjoyed the scenery.

sofylina - are you planning on this April? the grand old house is on my short list and FI brought up today maybe a cruise wedding.....so I'm just anxious to hear your reviews! :)

I'm getting married at the Grand Old House too, and as far as I can tell, the coordinator at GOH will help you with all your paperwork; it should be super easy! I'm not coming on a cruise ship, but I hear that GOH caters to cruise-shippers a lot, so they should know exactly what to do. The Grand Old House is supposed to be so awesome; I'm super excited!

sofylina--Maybe you are going on my wedding cruise...we are in Caymans to be married at the Grand Cayman Beach Suites 2/2! Are you cruising on the Carnival Destiny?

As far as the legal paperwork goes, we have to meet the officiant at the hotel at 8am after we port and our wedding will be legal with a ceremony taking place at 11am. You do not have to be there for 24hrs nor blood test as some other islands require.
