not just pregnant women should worry about mercury. it can harm anyone. just a developing baby is more at risk.

 

it's a dose thing. some exposure to mercury is ok. you just don't want too much.

tuna has the highest levels. so if you love tuna sushi, you can still eat it, but mix it with other types so you aren't eating a whole lot of tuna.

 

tuna has great qualities too. it's very high in omega 3 fatty acids. for this reason some people try to eat tuna several times a week. my BIL was doing this. But, it's better to keep it in moderation.

 

that's usually the rule for any envionmental toxin. keep your doses low. usually moderation keeps you safe.
