Forget about her and ask one of your parents to do the reading. You mentioned everyone else has gotten over the fact that you're not getting married in church so I would imagine one of them would be thrilled to do the reading for you and your future husband.

I would not want her in my wedding. Really, you save yourself so much potential drama by not having a wedding party. especially someone like her. that is so tacky!

I'd just speak to FI and say look its obvious she doesn't want to come and she is creating drama so I say she doesn't get involved as its only going to ruin the day.

 

Then poiltely tell her to shove her opinions up her arse and say you're off the guest list.

 

Life is hard enough without someone shoving their beliefs down your throat.

Thanks for all the advise! It is so hard because sometimes I feel like reading something and being on the outside looking in you all come up with rational and wondrful advise which completely makes sense.....

 

Then you add emotions and persons feeling into the mix and it is so much easier said than done! UH!

 

Well she called FI and said that she would LOVE to read at the wedding so long as it was not a scripture from the bible since she didn't want to read that if she were not in a church so not to look like a hypocryte?!

 

But she is excited to do it and I will give her the reading and hope that will be it for the drama. I hope that it will all be calm now.

 

So much has happened this weekend and makes me realize that life is so short and that the people that you love and hold dear you should put first and show them the love rather than play games.

 

Sorry for the emotions. My Aunt unexpetedly passed away this weekend at a very young age and it sucks. Makes you think
