You earn karma when others give it to you. Like if you like what someone said, you can add to their karma, or use karma instead of a gift.

I got mine from people sending it to me. I think you also get some with gifts from people. My reputation or whatever is in the 20's but my karma still only shows 2, so I am not sure how the points to karma thing work.

Oh yeah, I tried the thieving thing back when we were all doing it (hahahaha, after school special), and I totally lost all my karma. And the points too! I was never successful. I just got scolded by the forum telling me little lines like a fortune cookie or something.
