Okay... the thing you don't know about me... you're going to love this.

 

The late senator Strom Thurmond once gave me a tour of his DC-area (Virginia) apartment... while wearing his boxers and a wife-beater undershirt.

 

Nothing sordid or inappropriate. Sorry. I used to work on Capitol Hill for the committee that had jurisdiction over the physical transmittal of legislation to the WH for signature. Late one night, they passed something that needed to get to the WH right away, the only person left in town from the Senate who could sign it was Sen. Thurmond, so I went to his place to get his signature. Being old-school southern, it apparently didn't cross his mind that it would TOTALLY AND UTTERLY FREAK OUT the 23-year old staffer when he answered the door in his BOXERS. He signed the papers, gave me the 5-second tour and off I went.

Wow....this is a good one. I feel so normal now for all of the weird crap I do.

I'm trying to think what you may not already know....even though most of you have already seen me half naked, seen the inside of my home, and know all about my secret loathing of my FMIL....

 

*I have never in my life plucked my eyebrows....not one little hair

*I talk to my cats all the time....like conversations....sometimes they talk back and I swear they can understand me.

*I worked at a tanning salon in college that I found out later was a secret spot for hookers and drug deals....they rented hot tub rooms and had a massage room.....Perhaps that should have tipped me off. Thank god I was naive and only worked there a few months

*I chew like two packs of gum a day....it's a wiered addiction. I get so excited when orbit comes out with a new flavor...I think that may be my dieting secret....?

*My dad died two years ago from cancer and hardly anyone knows that....I didn't really tell anyone I worked with. None of my old friends know.

Okay, here goes a random fact:

 

When I was a kid I could speak and write Chinese. My best friend for awhile was 1st generation Chinese & very little English was spoken in her house. We watched Mandarin soap operas after school and played mah jong with her grandma's friends who spoke little to no English...lol

 

Her parents made her attend Chinese school on the weekends. I would do her homework with her so I learned how to write in Chinese, complete with the paintbrush and black inkwell. She moved away after 4th grade so my lessons stopped and my Chinese faded

I am a Orbit gum addict myself. Have you tried the new Maui Melon Mint flavor?

I told my 3 week old daughter that I hated her 2 hours before she died. ( because she would only stop crying for her father and everytime he gave her to me she cried. I could deal as a new mom in the house all alone while he worked.) I DID NOT MEAN IT.

 

I tried to kill myself afterwards. 9

I just realized the other night that I still sleep with a stuffed animal and I asked my FI if he found this strange. I have had this bear since high school and it is so soft and worn in...his name is jalen and he fits perfectly underneath my chin when I sleep. I love him
