rsvp necessary for destination wedding? Or used WeddingPaperDivas?

Recommended Posts

Keep in mind that all of your guests may not book through the TA you chose. I have had a couple of relatives contact their own.

-- good point, I hadn't actually thought of that... but it's also likely since some of the invitees will be out of province/out of the country.

so if I have the rsvp say something along the lines of:

"the favour of your reply is requested by Jan ##, 2009 (or whenever).

M.___________________

__will attend __ will not attend

*please ensure you make the appropriate arrangements with TA by the stated date..

Is that right? anyone think of better ways to word this?

I'm planning using Wedding Paper Divas too. Their designs are cute and the invites are so reasonably priced :) I sent my STDs as soon as I had the date, location, travel agent info and the website up.

I am not sure when to send the invite or the date by which they should RSVP. 2 months before the wedding? 1 month? 3 months before?

I think my invites will be very basic w/ just the ceremony info. Like many of you ladies, I plan on using the website or email for RSVPs. Is this tacky? For the family members who don't use email, I'll know from my parents anyway. For confirmed guests, I plan on mailing confirmed guests a more detailed letter w/ info on the welcome party, sights to see, luggage tags, etc.

Ideally, it would be nice to know who plans on attending asap for planning purposes. We both have big families so our budget for decorations, cake, etc. It can be either really low or high!

  • 3 weeks later...

I used weddingpaperdivas.com for my std's and I loved them so much that I ordered my invitations from them too, today! The quality is great! And they delivered my save the date cards before the estimated shipping date, which of course I was thrilled about!

I have a coupon code for 10% off, let me know if you would like it ... I found it online :) It definitely makes a difference when you're ordering in bulk. I highly recommend them, and I love on the website there is an online chat function which is so convenient when you just want to ask a quick question.

I did order rsvp cards, only because there are quite a few people on both sides of the family who are not very computer savvy. Although we do have a website, there is no rsvp function on it, so they would have to return the card to us. I guess it's pretty old fashioned, but I found it the simplest way to do it in our situation. Hope this helps!

We won't be sending out an RSVP a couple months before the wedding. We will know by Feb who's coming and who's not. I just think its a waste of money. I think everyone will be using our TA to book their accommodations. One of my FI's friends already said they probably will use their own TA and my FI just told im to make sure they RSVP on our website. I also made sure to put on our website that we want people to RSVP via our website. Luckily for us, everyone in our party is computer savvy.
