Trio vs. Mariachi

Hi all! Trying to decide on which to use...the Spanish Trio, or the Mariachi. Can anybody explain what the difference is? My wedding is at the Riu Palace so I was also wondering if the Trio/Mariachi band they use are any good?

I think a trio would be all string instruments. Usually a mariachi consists of at least two violins, two trumpets, one Mexican guitar, one vihuela (a high-pitched, five-string guitar) and one guitarrÃ³n (a small-scaled acoustic bass).
