what do you think is the "normal" amount a guest spends on a destination wedding

please factor in everything: food, drink, airfare, transfers, and how many days .

I was married in PR, not all inclusive. My guests stayed about a week and spent around $2000 each for airfare, hotel, excursions, meals, alcohol,etc. We paid for two dinners and two excursions, airfare for parents, groomsmen outfits and OOT bags. Needless to say, we tried to keep expenses low for our guests.

I plan on getting married in Cancun. My goal is to keep it under $1000 per person at an all inclusive resort staying 3-4 nights. Most of my guest are coming from Pittsburgh.

Mine is an all inclusive resort and with airfare from NC to Punta Cana for 6 nights my guests are looking at a little less than $1,400 per person.
