Hmmm...I don't think that they would charge you for bringing your own musician. Afterall, I'm sure many brides may have had someone sing or something at their ceremony.
In terms of the charge for the speaker, that seems like something that they may charge you for. What instrument exaclty is your friend playing? Does he really need a speaker? How well he is heard will probably depend on where you are having your ceremony, beach or gazebo.
Definitely run it by Chandlyn & see what she says.

Albertabride- you just gave me a great idea! One of my good friends is a fantastic guitar player, and it would be so great to have him play. Do you happen to know what the travel would be like for a guitar? Would it be checked baggage?
