Chocolate Brides: Hair Question

Recommended Posts

Ok so I don't think I will be getting the birdcage veil since apparently the veil is VERY important to my mother and she hasn't had really anything that meant the WORLD to her concerning the wedding except the veil....and she hates the birdcage veil. We are planning on going shopping for a veil on Saturday and I'm hoping she finds nothing she likes and just succumbs but she probably won't since she hates the birdcage veil so damn much. We'll see.

Ok...so question. with the sew in you can't NOT have any hair on face? Because I don't want any hair even touching my face on the wedding day. If that's the case, I'm going to have to make sure I let the girl's who's doing my sew in know that up front so we can work something out.

Debra,

In my experiences with wearing weaves you can have as little or as much hair left out, and if you chose to can have a side, middle, part or no part at all with all your hair pulled back away from your face. It is personally based on your preferences, and ultimately on the skills of your weave stylist.

Savannah provided some great options for styling with quick weaves and buns that can definitely allow you to have your hair pulled away from your face. However, if you are set on having a weave sewn-in I would suggest that you have a partial weave done leaving most of your hair out at the front and sides so that when you pull your hair away from your face it looks natural. Also, to ensure that your weave isn't so bulky make sure that your stylists makes your braids pretty small so that the weave can lay flat.

I hope this helps :)

Savannah I am with you!! I have been making purchases here and there so that I am not so overwhelmed with buying them next year. I already bought my shoes, jewelry, feather hair clip, things for my BM gifts, and I think I will finally be purchasing my dress in the next couple weeks... That is really the only thing that has me a little worried, I'm just hoping that I'm not buying it too soon and end up seeing something else later that I just have to have!!

Right! I'd love to be able to just go buy a crapload of stuff at once like so many others...but that's just not the way I roll. It's much easier and more affordable for me to gather as time passes. Plus, i think I make better decisions because I'm not under the gun with the time factor. I make stupid decisions based on what is available to me when I'm pressed for time. The things I want end up not being in stock, or I just can't find 'em. So that's another reason I'm trying to buy as I go.

I think I found my two styles last night--and narrowed down how I'm gonna accomplish both!

I should be able to quick weave both...just make some minor adjustments for my TTD style so that I can get as active as I need to without worrying about it.

Here's my wedding day look. I love it that it's classic, but so loose...lends it some informality I think while still keeping it elegant....though I have a really funny/stupid question for y'all. Which side should the veil hang? There will be a slight "wispy" kinda bang on the other side of this style, similar to this side, just not as much hair out. So...which side do I drape the birdcage veil over? lol

Still gotta find a pic of what I have in mind for my TTD style. It's in my head right now...lol.

Hello All,

This thread is very helpful cause I have no idea what I'm going to do with my hair. I'm going to keep praying my hairdresser makes the trip, LOL! If not I will be back here to read each and every post to figure it out!

OK, I found it! Wow..this is just what I've got in my head too. It's blonde and she ain't chocolate, but whatever. The look will be the same.

I'll post the dress I'm having made too...from one of the overseas manufacturers. The pic looks funny cuz I'm actually having them blend the two styles. The top of one dress with the fabric and bottom of the other..so the pic looks like the chick has three arms. lolol. I need a nap--sittin here crackin up at my own damn self.

Anyway...I'll post hairstyle with the gown for each and you guys can tell me if you think it will pull together the right way. .

Ceremony + Hair:

Maggie Sottero's "Phillipa" is my wedding gown..I'm hoping for...elegant.

And here is my ttd look if you can imagine it all together...for my TTD pics I want..soft and romantic. Romance novel cover stuff. hahaha!

You crack me up!!! But I love both dresses... I think you picked the perfect dresses for each setting and paired them w/ great hairstyles too :) I think with your veil it will all depend on the size and style of bircage you are looking for. Once you get it I would try it on either side of your face to see what works best.

I would personally have it hang on the side that would be captured most on photos... I'm kinda crazy and tend to have position myself so that pics of me are taken from my left side (best side) wink.gif
