We struggled with the decision to wait or book too, in the end we decided to book early to give our guests a date and price so they could start saving right away.

So far we have 37 people offiically booked and we're expecting more to book closer to the date. We chose to do the civil ceremony package to do it legally. My girl friend Allie just got married at the resort (vow renewal) and she said everything went amazingly and the WC's are great! I've pretty much submitted all my package options and have the date booked so the next 6 should hopefully be smooth sailing! Fingers crossed!!

*Note to all* ~ One thing to mention is that if you plan to do your first dance on the floating bridge by the live band (like mentioned in a previous post) DO NOT book your wedding on a Thursday, as this is the only night that the band in that lobby area does not play, instead there is a market where the locals sell their art. This could be very disappointing for a bride & groom that are looking forward to that moment and are not aware of this...

We're getting married here on November 16th, and if anyone has any pictures, advice, pricing, etc... I would totally appreciate it. does anyone know if how many "beach" receptions there are per night? can 2 take place on the same night?

I am getting married at GRP on June 20th, 2009. Can someone help me with reception ideas?? I don't want to pay for the beach thing; too much money per person. I would like to have my first dance then dance to some music. I booked the vow rennewal and I guess I will pay extra for the cake. Does anyone know where they are going to get their hair and make-up done? Any suggestions on photography?? Sorry for all the questions, just very nervous!!

When I was there there was definitely only one beach reception happening that night for as far as we could see in either direction, so I think this would be the norm!

Ms_Burns, did you get more reasonable prices for your packages? We were getting about the same prices as BrideNov2009. Let me know if you wanted our Travel Agent's info. We're in Toronto also.............
