Any Grand Palladium brides?

Hi girls,

 

Bre - the white party was cancelled because of the weather although we did not know this until we arrived everything was in darkness, then the rain started.  It wasn't held on another night to make up, but we just went to following week. 

 

Chrestena - thank you for your kind words, I keep saying the wrong name like this morning I made a hair appointment and said my maiden name then burst out laughing, I had to explain to the girl she was lovely and congratulated us though.

 

Lauren - how exciting it's so close for you now!  Don't worry about your dress, it will be just perfect, and I'm glad to hear you got bathing suits finally, I also struggle to find suits to fit as I need a bigger top than bottoms and they usually end up costing like £50!  Luckily I managed to find a few shops selling separates so I could choose the right size for each.  I was a little worried about the red light at the airport as I had so many drugs in my bags (paracetamol etc.) and also had lots of sparklers, but luckily I got green.  It sounds like you are very well organised and have lots of paperwork so I wouldn't worry one bit about the receipts.  It's clear you are travelling for a wedding and not to sell goods.

You're so lucky you can take so much luggage Lauren, we were allowed just one case each which had to be under 20kg.  We were also allowed 5kg hand luggage, but every kg extra we are charged £20 for so it would cost lots! 

 

Norma, We were in Mayan Suite in Kantenah, room number 3404 and that's where the ladies got ready so you can see some photos a few pages back which I posted a few days ago.   And yes, the white party is every Monday starting with dancing and games like limbo at 9pm, with the fire show around 11.  The party went on I think until 1am.

Jen the photo booth sounds like lots of fun!  I haven't heard or seen anything about having one abroad but I'm sure you'll find some good ideas and photos online to help

Hello jencadiz and all your beautiful wedding planners! There are a few local "photobooth" companies that do fun stuff in the Riviera Maya! Check out "The Photo Booth Mayan Riviera", "Photo Facebooth" or "I Heart Photobooths", we recommend all of these vendors to our couples. We've seen guests having a TON of fun with the props!

How did everyone choose their wedding package?? None of colours really match except for white. But dont want it to look like too much white. So hard to know which one....

I'm not sure the answer to when the White Party is but I think I did hear just Mondays.  We are not doing a White Party since our wedding is on a Monday.    I have just been reading some of the info about the spa beginning to charge in November.    What a bummer!  I definitely agree that it doesn't hurt to ask.  I would suggest emailing the spa directly to see if they can help you with who to ask.  The only person I know to contact there is Rosealba Flores?  I'll double check on her name but she is the one I booked our services through.  If I remember correctly from being there 6 years ago, it is adults only in the spa as well.  If any of you have younger kids with you who were planning on participating I'd ask the about that too.  Good luck!

Quick question - For those of you who have requested (and/or received) upgrades for your rooms at Grand Palladium, did you have to pay extra for these rooms when all was said and done?  I just sent in my room upgrade request and I received an email back saying that all upgrades are subject to a fee ($90/night) is what I was told.  I'll be perfectly happy with my Mayan Suite in the White Sand and I definitely don't have $90 a night more to spend now that we're this close to wedding day haha.  I just wanted to see how it all worked for you.  Thanks for the help!

Im having problems with someone getting back to me at GP. Does anyone have prices for private dinner and private reception for 30? Also does anyone have pix of the private beach bash and know if you can pay for four hours instead? Much love. Also whats the fb group?

We are most likely doing a private dinner as we were informed that parties over 40 ppl must have private since none of their restaurants can accommodate more than 40 for semi-private. They have a list of around 15 different set menus that vary in price/head (sorry my fiance is actually doing most of the communication with GP so I don't have this info at my fingertips, if you knew him you'd be surprised by this ;-) ) We didn't check about extending the beach bash, but we were advised that timing would be as follows: Private dinner is 4 hours (6-10), beach bash is 2 hours(10-12), and the beach bash must end at midnight. Hope this helps, it's always worth asking them your questions to see if there is any flexibility or ability to work out an alternative. We did find Rocio was extremely busy so it was difficult to get timely responses until she passed on our communication to one of the assistants. Oh and the FB group is BDW Grand Palladium Riviera Maya
