MJones, we are flying out of Winnipeg, and we got a group rate of $1598 taxes already included, which I thought was a really good price!  Although, many of my family members and guests still complained about the price.  I had looked around many of the prices ranged around $1600 plus taxes.

Hi Everyone,

After having read all the comments and information and finally getting caught up, I am feeling somewhat sour at my wedding coordinator.  Only because I am set to get married on January 14, 2013, however, I haven't been able to book the restaurant or the ceremony location.  The only thing confirmed is the date and time.  My wedding coordinator at the grand palladium advised me that she will not be looking at planning my wedding until about 2-months before the actual wedding date. Has anyone else had any issues with planning their wedding / wedding coordinator?  Should I be concerned?  What if I don't get the ceremony location that I wanted or the restaurant?  Starting to get stressed here, and that is the last thing I wanted....Any advice?

Lauren, your bridesmaids dresses are beautiful, I love the colour and style.

Carlota, Itâ€s lovely that you could replace the lost earring from your grandma to wear on your special day. They are beautiful. Iâ€m also glad to hear Thomas is starting to feel better as well. Liana, your shoes are awesome and very unique, Iâ€m sure they photos will be fab!

Lauren, itâ€s great to hear we can decide on going ahead if there is a little rain as well. Thanks for sharing that info with us. I think I should be okay because we are in the Church though. As far as decoration goes, I am planning on bringing some Chinese lanterns; I wasnâ€t sure how many to bring but think Iâ€ll go with Laurens suggestion of around 10. On the tables I will have only menus for each guest and a place card with the name of each guest. I will also bring lanterns for Las Rocas, Vanessa said we can bring our own and they will attach to the lights. If we hire them there it is $5 each when I can buy 3 here for £3! I have sparklers for when we arrive (also an idea stolen from pintrest) and thatâ€s about it decoration-wise for me. Iâ€m going to let the resort be all my decoration ïŠ

Lauren, I hope you have a fantastic time in Vegas, it sounds great!

Carlota, the message in a bottle idea is great, I did those for my Save the dateâ€s and everyone loved them so much. I would say remember to tie some string round the paper and leave it hanging out of the bottle so guests can pull the paper out instead of tipping the bottle upside down and getting sand everywhere.

Alyn, welcome to the forum. Iâ€m sorry to hear you are feeling a little frustrated. All I can say is if you read all the reviews from previous brides they all say the same thing – you should not worry at all beforehand. The wedding coordinators focus on the weddings happening in the near future and will give your wedding the same attention when the times comes round. I would try to push for confirmation of the restaurant and location though as you donâ€t want to miss out on the exact places you wish for.

I'm feeling a little nervous now as we have not had confirmation from Vanessa that the Church in RM has received our paperwork from the church here.  We cannot get married without it.  I emailed her yesterday morning to ask but haven't heard back yet.  Hopefully I will hear soon.  I don't have very long to organise the paperwork if it has not been received.  Well girls, keep your fingers crossed for me :)

Welcome to the forum Alyn and congratulations for having a date.

Regarding of what you have said about the planner... Which is your wedding coordinator?

To be honest, it sounds strange that your planner does not want to plan anything with you until 2 months before the wedding... in fact, may I understood bad? If not, tell to her directly that you are not agree with this and/or write directly to the boss of them.  Or as Claire has suggested try to clarify her about the restaurant or private location for the reception.

Or maybe has it been a problem with the language?

Hope you arrange this soon!

Claire, thanks so much for the ideas for the bottle!! In fact I was thinking how to do that. You are so crafty!! Thanks sooo much for the idea!! I really apreciate it!

Vanessa takes a while to answer when we talk about paperworks because she has to ask other people about it. It happens to us with several questions we had to know from the civil registry. So what she was doing was asking them, wait for the anwers and then wrote to me. The longest I waited for an email from her was 2 days.

Do not worry sure everything is going to be Ok!! I am crossing fingers now for you!!

I am nervous as well because the Thomas' paperwork is taking a lot of time!! I had got mine here at the same date... but Italian burocracy is being very slow. It is two months now when Thomas started with everything. I advice him to start before but you know how men are!

Thank godness there is a friend of him that is doing everything there in Italy... But it is taking a lot of time anyway, and then he will have to send us everything to Spain. He cannot go with the documents as we need the 3 days for the Mexican civil registry and his friend will arrive two days later.

So I understand you perfectly!! We are making legal wedding as well!

Ok so she is the boss.... as far as I know...

So ask directly to her to have the information about the restaurants, etc Tell her you need to organize yourself because it is impossible to you to do it if she does not tell you something.

We will try to help you with other doubts you could know but at least about the wedding packages and reception she should be available to answer your doubts.... I think this is one of the reasons they are called "wedding coordinators".

Alyn [/quote I wouldn't stress too much. They book 2 weddings a day so if you have your time booked you will be able to get married whereever you want. I guess for dinner you might want to get that booked in but my coordinator told me the same. Who do you have? Mine is Grace...shes been great with getting back to me in a couple days but sonetimes I wish i had Vanessa as she seems very good at English and at offering suggestions. I find it a bit hard to understand Grace...ive heard they are all great when you are there though. I think since they do 2 weddings most days it must be hard to keep everyones straight and i know when my wedding gets closer I want her answering my questions asap!!! Lol not answering someone whos wedding is 9 months away instead of me haha. Most things seem to be able to be picked during meeting at resort before wedding. Does anyone have any info on the actual ceremony? Vows or what they read out? Just curious on what everyone prepares before going? Also, for any past brides...how big was your free bouquet?? Just wondering if its worth ordering bridesmaids bouquets from local flower shops instead of using the resorts.

So many posts to catch up on ..

Liana - Thanks for the website for those silk flowers.. I have checked it out & the prices seem reasonable! I like how you can get stuff customized too .. definitely going to look into that.

Claire - I LOVE your bridesmaids bags .. did you paint them or how did you do those? I am not near crafty enough to do the same but I think they are so cute and love how they are each personalized! Also did you make the hangers yourself too?? That I might be able to do myself .. was going to order from Etsy but if they were easy to do yourself I might have to try that first. I just keep adding more and more stuff that I want to buy/order and its really starting to be expensive so the more $$ I can save the better! haha

Carlotta - Glad to hear Thomas is doing better. Thanks so much for everything to do for this page as well as the facebook group .. you really are helpful!

Love the idea of the bracelets for the bridesmaids/maid of honor .. question for you ladies what about gifts for the groomsmen?? I have LOTS of stuff that we could get for the girls but am having a hard time figuring out what we can get the guys as a little gift.. any ideas?!

Lauren - love the bridesmaid dresses! Super cute & the color is so nice :) We got our bridesmaid dresses in too .. my sisters is hanging in the closet at my house I will have to upload a picture sometime :) Wishing you a fun weekend in Las Vegas .. I hear the weather there is suuuuuuuper hot right now.. enjoy! you'll be glad for that cabana by the pool and the bottle service haha..

Jenn & Claire .. you girls both leave soon. Wanted to wish you good luck with everything .. hope you have a wonderful trip & an amazing wedding day. Cant wait to hear bout the details when you get back! :)

Alyn.. that is a good price leaving from Winnipeg! Which travel company is that with?? Also I would talk to Rocio about not being able to book anything until 2 months before .. my wedding is still over 6 months away and a few months ago they emailed me with a bunch of details that I had to fill out in regards to what I wanted for the wedding.
