Hello,

Christina - I too had a few trials done with my hair and actually similar styles too.  But none of them looked this good and I loved my hair.  They also have the product for WIND - cause its windy there..LOL  I say go for it, it is your special day and it is so wonderful to look and feel like a princess.  The flower was real, I had ordered 2 but we used only the 1 and I think they were $10 each.  Yes it did wilt by the end of the night but at that point I didn't care.. I wish I knew who did my hair.  I thought I had a picture of us but it didn't work.  :(  She was really good and I was done way before my bridesmaids. I have been growing my hair out for along time so the last thing I wanted was an updo to hide the length.  Even if you leave it down but have them put some curl in it is lovely.  I saw that on another bride at our honeymoon resort and she looked lovely.  It was simple.

If you do decide to do your own makeup.  I also suggest either getting some lessons or going on the internet and looking it up for pictures.  It reallky does make a difference for pictures having the right makeup.  They do use MAC product so it is good quality.  The only thing I wish I had brought with me is a finishing spray you can get that helps set your makeup so it lasts longer.

I did not even look at where the beach ceremony would be, I saw pictures of the Gazebo and fell in love with it instantly.  So sorry I can't help you with that one, Im sure it is just as lovely.

Hello brides!

Karenk thank you so much for sharing with us your experience. It helps a lot to know things in which other way maybe i would not have thought on them until that moment. I am also getting married at the beach gazebo and you look beautiful there!!!

I have also booked a natural flower as I think it is more "caribbean style" and I think is beautiful. Girls I think you all should take it, lol, i think is perfect for our hairs that day!! msnwink.gif

Chrestena, in case you finally want to book at the Spa. My wedding is at 4pm and the girl from Zentropia Spa told me to be there at 12.00 so they can have enough time for the make up and hair style. I hope there are not 3 weddings when i am there!! lol Because there are many of my guests that are going to be there as well between 12 and 1 pm! And from some photos that a Mexican bride sent me by mail it seemed a small place...

Chrestena, thanks for the websites!! I am going to take a look this evening.

About the beach party, Karenk you had a good idea! Having the final party at Las Rocas Bar I think is great.

Chrestena, for suming up the story. I wanted to have the one that they have now with the new wedding packages but Vanessa told me that I had to change my wedding package, and the new ones do not please specially. So I asked her for another possibilites. Vanessa told me that is possible to have a cocktail at Las Rocas Bar after our dinner. This has a 2 hour duration (the max is to finish at 12pm as it is not allowed by the hotel to continue until later... (such a pity for Spanish people as we are used to dance in the wedding until 4 or 5 am!). But there is the disco in La Riviera side that is open until 2am.

The cost for 20 people is 125 usd and the chinese lamps you see in the pics (I hope you all can see them now, sorry the size but Vanessa sent them to me very small, she "copy and paste" instead of attaching them but for having an idea I think this are good) has a cost of 5usd each one. There is one waiter serving the cocktails and it is included the cable for Ipod (is it said cable in English? I am not sure), loudspeaker and microphone.

When I saw the photos Vanessa sent me I felt in love. I love Las Rocas area and I wanted from the start but there was a misunderstunding between Vanessa and me. So now luckily we could have the dances there. I think our guests are going to love it as well. The other lights you see at the photos are free.

Lauren, thanks a lot for all the explanation about the OOT bags!! It is a nice touch for the girls/woman indeed!! I am going to take a look on how to make the bags and where!

Girls, do you know if it is possible to have any flavour you want for the wedding cake? We are thinking in having tiramisu but I am not sure if it is possible the chef cooks the flavour you want.

¡Buenas noches a todas!

Good night to everyone!

Claire, -  your 12:00 appointment should be fine, mine was for 1:00 and we were at least 1/2 to 45 min late in starting.  They can do 4 people at once.

My wedding was at 4 as well.

you will love the Gazebo, it was perfect and I was so happy I decided to go with a flower in my hair, I really had not made up my mind until the moment but bought the flower as a just in case i wanted it.  LOL   Grace delivered the hair flowers right the the salon so you don't have to worry about it.

Mosquitos - most  of the week we did not encounter them until our wedding day for pictures, at sunset we were at the Salt Water Pool - it is the best place for pictures, unreal spot.  The mosquitos came out just as we were leaving and they were really bad so be aware of doing anything on the beach in the evening, not sure what its like in the summer time.  Maybe it is also just in that area, Im not sure but its best to be prepared for them.

Im sure I will have more info as I remember,  Im so excited for all of you and your up and coming weddings.. you will have the best and most beautiful weddings.

My guests already want us to do a Vow renewal in 5 years so we can all go back.

Cheers,

Karen

Hey ladies! So exciting to see some people getting married in march/april of 2014; my finance and I haven't set a date yet, but this is what we are aiming for!

Our dear friend and experienced agent has heard back first from the palladium, so I went to check out the videos etc on the website. The virtual tour is so nice!

Although the vendor only sent the agent an intial email, I am wondering about a few things, and how you guys worked around it:

- the photographers they hire for weddings - do you advise using them so you don't have to pay for your own photographer that you brought with you? We are bringing our own, but if we use the resort's photographer, we won't be charged the 500 dollars for "outsourcing"

- with the awesome packages (love the variety!) - are any of you having more than the 6-10 guests? These packages seem so small! We will have at least 40, and was wondering how you guys made out with extra dinner plates etc for reception?

- what did you all do for dancing/djs? I see that the resort in mayan is fairly close to the "downtown" life so if anything, we could have a dj until 10 and then just head downtown to continue the party.   What kind of costs did you have for dj services if applicable?

- overall, how did you find dealing with the resort was?

I am full of q's lol smile159.gif

KarenK your pictures are gorgeous!  Like Chrestena I LOVE the hairstyle you chose.  Did you find that it lasted all day/night? I donâ€t know what your hair is like, but mine is very thick so I worry that I will be SO hot with it down.  Especially in August, lol.  So I had my stylist here at a trial try something like that which can easily be put up after by my sister.  Also I did not have an appointment for them to do my makeup – just my hair – but your positive review of the makeup makes me think Iâ€ll have them do that too.  Thank you so much for taking the time to come back and give us such a detailed review of your day and your time there.  It is SO greatly appreciated.  J

Chrestena thank you so much for the suggestion on the shoe websites.  Iâ€m on them right now scouting some things out.  We are getting married on the sand, so I have barefoot sandals.  I have ‘Just Married†flip flops for afterwards but I think I want a sexy pair for pictures too.  My problem is that I canâ€t walk in high heels, I can do 2 and half inches tops, lol.  Iâ€m used to wearing steel toed boots.  Iâ€m hoping to find a beautiful, delicate pair that arenâ€t too high!

Does anyone know how much it would cost for an extra for an extra hour reception at La Laguna?  I'm weighing that option out vs. Las Rocas.  I havenâ€t actually talked to Vanessa yet about the possibility of moving to Las Rocas afterwards and Iâ€m thinking it might be a pain to move over there but I will definitely want to keep the party going.  I wonder how far it is in distance from La Laguna to Las Rocas?  I donâ€t know if there is music there but I think Carlota said yes there is.  Right now my biggest concern is how long dinner will run.  Iâ€m also trying to figure out how to allocate the 4 hours we have the DJ for so if there IS music at Las Rocas and we can dance there, that would be great!

Thanks for the suggestion too on the room request form on Palladium Addict.  I need to head over there and check that out as well.  How far in advance does this form need to be completed?

Hi MrsShorey!  Welcome and congratulations on your upcoming wedding!!  Enjoy this time – it has been SO wonderful to have these ladies here to bounce ideas off of.  I think a lot will change with the packages since the introduction of the Karen Bussen packages.   They are beautiful but they were just introduced in the last month or two officially if I recall correctly, so I donâ€t believe any of us really have experience with those particular packages.    As of right now there is no charge to bring in any outside vendors like a photographer.  Is that changing?  We are bringing our own photographer from Canada with us.  I haven't really heard any reviews on the resort photographer but Vanessa did suggest that we use our own.  What I can tell you for certain is that I have been to a wedding at this resort before.  I LOVED it, and as a bride who is currently planning my own wedding at Grand Palladium, the communication with the resort (Vanessa in particular) has been fantastic.  Any questions you have there is very little wait to hear back and you can tell they truly want to give you the day of your dreams. :)

Lauren

Hey 2014 brides! I am just curious whether anyone has received confirmation for their 2014 wedding date yet. I received an e-mail from Vanessa a couple of weeks ago saying my name was on a waiting list and that they would begin confirming 2014 dates in a couple of weeks. I am thinking they should be starting now, if they haven't begun already. I am anxiously awaiting confirmation as I have booked our travel and want to send out the details to our guests. Just curious as the waiting is killing me! Thanks!

¡¡Buenas tardes chicas!! (Good afternoon girls!)

Welcome to the new brides, as Lauren has said I have not idea on how things are now at Grand Palladium with the new wedding packages. The only sure thing that I know (because Vanessa told me) is that with the flowers is not possible to change colors or add arragments with outside vendors. But the wedding coordinators are great and always answered all doubts.

Lauren, a couple of months ago Vanessa told me that the extra hour (from 11pm to 12pm) at La Laguna has a cost of 5usd for person.

About the music, I do not know if it is possible to have a DJ at Las Rocas Bar. But there is the option included on the wedding package that is the cable for ipod, loudspeakers and microphone.

Lauren, about the distance, Vanessa explained me that from La Laguna to Las Rocas it takes around 15 minutes to move all the guests with the carts.

We are still thinking if have a Dj or not. I have to ask to Vanessa it would be possible to have one at Las Rocas Bar.

Chrestena, I think you have asked sth about DJ's some posts ago... Have you tried to contact the Dj from the resort? Vanessa gave me the email. He has just emailed me today with the costs and for two hours they have a cost of 6000 pesos (MXN).

This is their website:

And mail:

[email protected]

He (Eduardo) has also sent me a youtube video of them at Palladium:

        Un saludo chicas!

Hey Kstok,

I had received an email from Grace about 2-3 weeks ago saying they have opened up the reservation books for 2014. They just sent me the authorization forms for me to put down the deposit for my date also .. so maybe email them again if you don't hear from them soon?? I know I was getting anxious to hear from them too .. Just wanted my wedding date booked!
