Another question- for those of you doing the non-legal ceremony... has Rocio allowed you to do a lot of personalizing of the ceremony (given you contact info for the officiant or anything)? We were going to do the legal ceremony, but its pricier and I'm a bit worried that we won't get any sort of personalization in it because I can't seem to get contact info for the officiant from Rocio, and... I want it to reflect us more. If not, and suggestions on officiants in the PDC area we could bring in?

My wedding plans are going well. I have my final dress fitting tonight! I have my jewellery, I just need hair accessories. My FI needs to find some sandals to wear. That's our project for next week as he's not working and once the rain comes and get's all this darn snow off the ground. Other than that, I need to pick the restaurant for the reception and book my hair appointment.

I read on the Palladium Addict site awhile back that you can personalize the ceremony for the ring exchange or just after the ring exchange as the legal part will be done before that. I'll let you know what I find out from Erika/Rocio over the next few weeks as we are planning our final details and asking them those questions. We are doing the legal ceremony down there, so I'll let you know how it goes.

Hi all,

I was just at the Grand Paladium in March, 2008 for my fiancee's brother's wedding. If you have any questions, I may be able to answer. The resort really impressed us and everyone had a fantastic time. They had the reception dinner at Portofino which is gorgeous. They have a private balcony area(you can see this on the Grand Palladium resort map actually). It was beautiful at night with the lights reflecting from the pool. It seemed like a very private and secluded section which was nice. There was about 25 people and the private area held us all comfortably.

Hope everyone has a great time there. We sure did!

Gemstone- Where was your FBIL's wedding held? On the beach or at their wedding gazebo? I'm really wanting the gazebo, but I'm concerned about its proximity to the snack bar and having a ton of observers, so if you observed anything on that, I'd love to hear it! Did the bride or groom say anything about dealing with the wedding planner?

There are 2 gazebos at the Grand Palladium. One is located behind the Sports Bar by the Colonial lobby and where FBIL got married. It is very private and surrounded by trees. There is a little deck/patio to have some drinks or champagne before and after the wedding ceremony too which is nice. If you are looking for privacy , this is where you'd want to be. The other gazebo is located right on the beach beside the beach snack bar. It is a VERY gorgeous gazebo with a great backdrop of the ocean. Very picturesque. It is at the end of the beach so you won't have too many beach intruders but there definitely will be some. There's no avoiding itsad.gif Everyone loves to see a bride. The only thing that deterred FBIL from the beach gazebo was the wind. The Mayan coast is very windy no matter what resort you're on. The gazebo up by the sports bar is much more closed in and there was no wind at all.

The wedding coordinator was very helpful and organized. The FBIL's didn't need to decide the ceremony location till they got down to Grand Palladium. I believe they have up to 3 weddings a day so you may want to check with her what your options are and when you need to decide. You may want to wait till you get there and check out both the gazebos.

I can't believe that I'll be on the plan to our wedding 2 weeks from today!!!! I'm excited.

We're leaning towards the beach location and not one of the gazebos, although we'll decide once we actually get down there. We'll have a day or so to explore (I think) before our meeting with Rocio as we arrive Saturday and we'll likely have our meeting scheduled for Monday. I'll let you know what we ended up choosing and why.

We're also doing our reception at Portofino.

Hello!

I just want to say thank you so much to all the brides to be on this site. It has helped so much for my fiance and I to pick the Grand Palladium Riviera to get married at. Everything is all booked up as we get married Nov 19th at 4 PM departing Sat Nov 14th to Sat Nov 21st 2009. We just mailed out the wedding invitations yesterday. We used an amazing site for our wedding invitations.

The sites name if you want to check it out is: www.aprylsdesigns.com

for those of you who still need to do invitations up.

I have a few questions and would appreciate it if anyone can help anwering them:

- I know that you have to pay additional $20.00 per person for the wedding ceremony.

- The wedding packaging includes an alacarte for up to 40 people.

If we have over 40 people I believe it is a private reception and you have to pay per person (ranges on menu you pick 50-65 US dollars)

Has anyone had a situation where you have 45 people or 50 people and askes Rioco if they can get away with this or pay a small fee instead of paying per person?

Also, for some of you that are getting married this month (or soon after) when did you have to have your numbers in by?

If anyone can give me an idea on what they are doing for thier reception I would greatly appreciate it.

Thank you and happy planning : )

Candice
