Right. I only wanted to send my fancy invitations to people who were actually coming. Part of this is probably due to the fact that my friends and family have put me through so much trauma by all backing out on me that I don't want them to have the fun stuff. Isn't that mean? Jeff's sister isn't even getting one of these... **evil laughing**

No, seriously we just decided we wanted to spend the money for a few really nice invitations, and send simple announcements to all our other invitees that we know aren't coming. Jeff also really wants an AHR and I totally don't. Supposedly that info will go on the announcement, but I'm dragging my feet because I don't want to do it.

They will be a simple red cardstock with a vellum overlay. Basically it will look like the center invitation part of my "real" invites. Of course I will post pics when I actually get around to making them...

First of all, I wanted to say that I think the invites look great! The ribbon w/ the brads is cute and different, but a little seal like Christine's would be cute too...would it be any simpler or easier than putting the brad's through the ribbon? SOooooo cute!

No, you don't have to send announcements to people who were invited for the wedding. Announcments are just to "announce" to people that weren't on the guest list. Sounds kinda' brutal, but it's just a tradition/courtesy to let people know that you're married.

Sarah ~ your invites look great! I love the brads inside...they give your invite a clean, finished look. I'm undecided about whether or not I like the brads on the outside ribbon (it doesn't look bad, just not sure if something else would look better), but you said a bow didn't look good. If you have a seal or something, that might look nice. ...sorry, I'm not much help.

I'm jealous that you only have to make 12!!! They really look great!! Good job!! I love the paper choice! I used papers and more also. I really liked their product. It doesn't look like you had an issue with your printer printing on the vellum...lucky you!!

I just ordered card stock and envelopes for my STDs and you have really inspired me. When I am ready to start my project, I would like to pm you to find out how you set everything up as far as alignment goes.
No problem- just let me know what you need...

I love your invites!! Great JOb.

Another option is to do a seal but out of the red paper that you have on the inside of your invite. You could make it square same width as the ribbon and put the brads on the corners just like your invites. This way you do not see where the ribbon overlaps. You could also do it in a cirle with only one brad in the middle ... but I think that you have a square theme going you should keep it.
